No more ghost flushing!
I would say these are better than the original rubber seals that came on the Kohler toilet. These are more of a silicone that stays closed even with the hardest water. Installation is very easy, they fit absolutely perfectly (just make sure to get them in the little groove) and for the price they can’t be beat.

Great instructions, ghost flushing/leak resolved, no leaks. They work!
My wife made the mistake of dropping in-tank (rather than in-bowl) chlorine tablets in our toilets. By the time I noticed, it was too late and the damage was done. One Kohler toilet developed the ubiquitous "ghost flush" issue, where water slowly leaks out of the tank into the bowl, causing the toilet to refill itself from time to time. Another toilet was difficult to flush - when you pushed down on the flush lever, there was a lot of resistance like something was stuck.Having never worked on a fancy Kohler mechanism, I was worried the repair would be difficult. A quick google search later, I determined the gasket/valve seal was the likely culprit so I ordered this 2-pack. It came with clear written directions that included how to remove the assembly (a simple quarter turn) to access the valve seal and replace it. Total repair time was about 2 minutes on the first toilet, and 1 minute on the second toilet once I knew what needed to be done. I leak-checked by putting a few drops of food coloring in the water storage tank and letting it sit for a few hours. When I returned later I found the water in the bowl remained clear, with no colored water having entered the bowl. No leaks confirmed!Because of the full and clear instructions, the value (this 2 pack costs as much as a 1-pack from Kohler), and the fact that the seals resolved my problem I feel a 5-star rating is warranted. I can't speak to the longevity, but since the thickness felt as good or better than the stock item I don't expect any long term issues. Should that change in the coming years, I will update this review.

Stops your toilet from randomly running.
If you have a Kohler toilet with the canister flush valve that randomly runs throughout the day, this does the trick. You might want to watch a youtube video to help you understand the whole process of removing the canister to replace the seal, but this is less than a 5 minute job to complete. The first time you do it, you think you're going to break the canister, but you really not need to apply a ton of force to make the 1/4 turn on the canister. The only problem I've had is remembering where I put the second one 9-12 months later when I need to replace the seal again.

Ultimate Solution. So simple.
Toilet technology. It’s simple mechanics and gravity. These Kohler toilets (ones with “canister”) have a seal that over time erodes or otherwise fails. Water leaks into bowl. The valve engages to replace that lost water from the tank. JUST REPLACE THE DARN SEAL!It can be done in less than 5 minutes. Tips: 1. Don’t detach the chain - waste of time. 2. Pull up canister to remove post. 3. While holding canister up in one hand, with other hand rotate post inside from bottom to remove - note the configuration of the slot that post fits in for when you reinstall. 4. Turn canister upside down and take off old seal. Be sure to remove it all and to wipe off that area of the canister and any accumulated crud from area where the seal contacts on the tank. 5. Put new seal around bottom of canister - it fits right in the groove almost like a rubber band and you just guide it around. 6. Using two hands the same way you removed things, reposition canister over the hole and put post back in place with the appropriate clockwise turn to lock it in. 7. You can rotate the canister to where you want it to be in relation to the chain and lever, and now test flush. The firm, tight seal is immediately apparent. This yellow cushy material is different from the original red rubbery seal that broke down and leaked. Seems to create a better seal.
