If you want a simple timer, this works fine and no need for an app. They cross the line to start and cross the line to finish and it shows you the time on the clock. However if you're looking for advanced app features or support, do NOT purchase this product.*App review*It says it works with android, it does not.With apple the functions disappear after connecting to the bluetooth, though the reset option is there so you can reset the clock from your phone instead of having to push the button, so that is nice.*Setup*Setup took extra long because I had the clock and lasers plugged into a wall outlet. The lasers work fine while plugged in but the timer lights up but does not actually work unless it's unplugged. That was a pain to figure out. Also the on/off switch on the timer is upside down so you slide it down to turn it on and on the other two pieces you slide them down to turn them off.*Use*The equipment seems to work okay but the timer misses 20 to 30% of the starts so the runner has to start over. I'm going to try this in an indoor environment to see if its the brightness of the sun that causes some interference.Overall - this isn't what I expected and there is 0 support from the company and very poorly written instructions included with the timer. However, if you simply want a 'laser' timer with a display clock then this may be for you.
