DEWALT 60V FLEXVOLT 18" Brushless Chainsaw (DCCS672X1)

Went with DeWalt mainly because I have a good colle tion of cordless DeWalt.This product was rated highly on several YouTube videos as well.Being a homeowner I just need something to clear property of small trees (6" & smaller) and this product has worked well. Chain held up good after several sharpenings.

A really great saw that just wirks. No idling, so the battery lasts a long time. A scary amount of cutting torque.Just because it's electric doesn't mean you can skimp on your protection gear. Grab a hard hat, eye protection, and some quality kevlar chaps, but leave your ear plugs at home.

Great chainsaw with plenty of power. It is heavy and the battery does not last very long if you are tackling large trees, so you will need extra batteries if you have a lot of cutting to do. I used this post storm/tornado to cut up a large oak tree. It is very quiet, which is also nice.

This well built 18” flexvolt DeWalt saw attacks wood. I own the 20 volt 12” DeWalt chainsaw so I was shocked by the power and speed of this 18” version. HOWEVER, there is a limit to the number of trunk cuts you can make before depleting the flexvolt battery. For instance, with a fully charged 9 amp flexvolt battery, I was able to get 5 cuts through a 17” diameter white pine trunk before the battery was drained. I then got 18 cuts through 11” diameter red oak trunk before the battery needed recharging. Consider getting a DeWalt Fast Charger if this quick battery discharge is a problem for your expected workflow. The charger that came with the saw was a DCB115 which is what I use for my 20 volt batteries. Having two flexvolt batteries is strongly recommended. Be aware that this 18” saw will only accept a flexvolt battery. Your current 20 volt DeWalt batteries that you might have for your DeWalt hand tools will not fit this flexvolt saw. However, the flexvolt battery will generally fit your DeWalt hand tools. This is a great saw but with limited battery runtime when pushing its limits.UPDATE (3/2024): This saw continues to be a beast. Recently felled a 74 ft, 15 inch diameter white pine. Took a total of 4 charges of the 9 amp Flexvolt battery to complete chopping up the trunk and stump into 16” chunks. See photos.

After reading the other reviews I was worried about this chainsaw leaking oil. I purchased the DCCS672X1 and it has not leaked a drop of oil. I have used it to cut branches and limbs ranging in the 3" - 4" size. It is great for regular yard work. I love that it starts right up, no pulling cords in the hot sun. It cuts like butter. I did knock the chain off, due to my error of cutting some live small brush, but putting the chain back on was a breeze. I recommend.I can't speak to the battery life as I haven't run out of battery in one use. I do have a backup battery just in case, which I also use for the leaf blower.

This DEWALT 60V FLEXVOLT 18" is a very powerful chainsaw. I did some tree trimming and took down some large trees and this saw cut the trees with ease. It is as powerful as my gas powered saw. Instant start and instant stop.

Cut down a dead oak 8” in diameter and 25’ tall. Cut the whole thing branches and all into 2’ sections. Started with a full battery and cut up 85% of the one charge. I use it mostly on oak trees and cuts great. The one draw back is the thin saplings will toss the chain every time. Great saw and would recommend buying one.

Highly overrated as far as I'm concerned.Might as well have bought a cheap gas one....batteries short lived and expensive,just not what I expected from DeWalt...have several other DeWalt tools and very happy with them.....not so with this one.....just my opinion....
