Broke exhaust manifold bolt in engine head. Did not want to remove head and take to machine shop to have it removed, so, used undersized drill to drill small enough hole and used this kit to remove broken bolt. First try....worked great!

In the muffle of a car project I desperately needed a extraction tool. Ordered and had the next day! Enabling a 2 day total repair job. They worked amazingly!

The only downside to this kit is the drill bits that are rounded smooth so a normal power drill cannot hold it while trying to drill something without it spinning. The extractors themselves are great, I used them to remove some rusted bolts from my truck. Even when the head of the bolt broke I was able to go down a few sizes and get a hold of the stud itself.

I was replacing the body to cab bolts 12 mm bolts the head broke off and I was able to get the bolt out with this tool amazing I thought I was going to have to drill it out

I was removing lug nuts on a 2016 Jeep Wrangler after a Jeep dealership drastically over-torqued (must have used an impact with 200 lb of torque on it or more) the nuts upon mounting the wheels on the vehicle after service. I completely stripped two of the lug nuts using a 1/2" pneumatic impact gun. A four-way lug wrench split on that lug nut size, while trying to break the nut free, so I was left to order this lug nut removal set. I will say that on the first attempt, two of the seized lug nuts which were completely rounded off, came off after using a small mallet to make sure this lug nut removal tool was pushed as far on the rounded nut as I could get. Using my 1/2" impact, the lug nuts broke free and came off without damaging the studs. I was quite impressed that the socket held up so well especially knowing how incredibly impacted the lug nuts were seized onto the stud and rim. I have to give this tool five stars as it worked exactly as advertised and without damage to the socket or the rim. Granted, I had to put two new lug nuts on the vehicle but since I was the one torquing them down, I know what I'm doing and I was able to put them at the prescribed torque recommendation without worry of future issues trying to remove them. It's sad the dealership would impact lug nuts so tightly on all four rims. Luckily, I was able to free all lug nuts except for these two that became rounded off and practically inaccessible. Great tool and a pretty good value for it.

If this kit contained carbide drill bits, I could have given it 5 stars. These drill bits didn’t even make a dent in the metal screws I needed to extract. I found some carbide bits online and using a slow speed on my Black & Decker cordless drill, they cut through the metal like butter. I then used the extractors from this kit and it worked like a dream. What I thought was going to be an impossible project (removing flaking and rusted screws from a door hinge) turned out to be successful.

I was afraid this wouldn’t work, I was wrong. Thank goodness.

Did not bite the metal on a tire stud - just slipped even if tried to pound them on with 3 lb hammer - would not bite into stud by pushing and using impact wrench or hammering on - not sharp or strong enough steel in sockets maybe
