This is a very American idea. You can lead by example or try a chart. I lead by example, but children these days sometimes seem so unable to complete even simple tasks. If you don't want to have a lazy adult in your house, who doesn't make his own bed, then you need to start now. I do like the idea of children helping out around the house, I don't like the idea of a domestic slave. Children need time to be able to play as well as be part of "Team X" ie part of the family. If you simply get them to keep their room tidy, pick up their own toys and put them away and put the laundry in the basket it will honestly be more than some do. This chart is a good way of introducing the idea of being tidy etc. I have a slightly curved fridge and the item stick on nicely. The pen has a bit of a weedy magnet and would probably come off if you brushed past it. Simply decide on the level of chores you think is fair and think about rewards for doing them ... playing a board game, reading them an extra few pages of book, going for a game of football in the park, the rewards don't have to involve money. I think the price point is a wee bit pricy, but I never really comment on that because everyone's circumstances are different and you can research others if you think this is too high a price for your wallet. The item is nice, simply and easy to use. I'm not sure teenagers are going to want a dinosaur chores chart, but as a starter chart for younger children it's fine.

My daughter loves this, and it is so handy to have it stuck to the fridge.

This has worked wonders with my child. It's used daily and I love that we can write our own goals instead of the usual 'get dressed' ones.

The pen, Ink barely visible and also faded/evaporated So we brought dry wipe pens separately and they wiped off to easily. I don’t recommend this product sadly.
