The updates to Crisis Core is amazing. The graphics look great, the added voice acting to everything makes the game feel modern. The original Crisis Core on the PSP was one of my favorite games to play, the continuation of the Final Fantasy VII story and lore, the dive into the legacy of the Buster Sword, the story of Zach and the events leading up to the original Final Fantasy VII. This version also updates some of the controls making it easier to play.

I was blown away by this remaster/remake of final fantasy 7 crisis core reunion and the story is so godlike awesome including the gameplay,story,characters,and those awesome cutscenes and the music and the game runs really good on ps4 pro and as a very smooth frame rate and I didn’t experience any issues playing this game and I haven’t beaten yet because I’m still taking my time with it including the main story and side missions and there’s plenty to do in the game as well including new game plus and the game is a 10/10 for me also I’m streaming this game on my YouTube channel and remember playing the psp version of ff7 crisis core the original and I’m happy now that the game came to ps4 ps5 Xbox one,and switch now and I’m happy 😊❤️🤟👍

Edit: so in preparation for ff7 rebirth im doing all the ff7 games again and finally forced myself to push through this. Once i got over the voice cringe i was able to enjoy the game much more. Dmv isnt intrusive as psp. Easier to do skills/magic/items than the psp version. And while graphics arent really redone its a noticeable shininess and high rendered asset than original. Could be better but i had a blast by the end of the 100% platinum trophy run.Granted all the points i mentioned below still are there but outside of the issues, its a doable game worth going through. The downside for new players is the learning curve and the monotone mission list. Not to mention if yoh do the "superboss" extra quest then you need a solid 5hours grinding gil or sp for a way to cheese the battle. Overall it was an enjoyable experience but really should've been given a proper remake :/Bumped to 4 starsSide note: if you have a tv with good motion smoothing it can make the ps4 run in a faux 60fps and qled tv contrasts also make a huge difference. Game is night and day compared to qled vs regular tv.---People are looking at this from.nostalgia glasses. The original psp game is a masterpiece and is worth playing on its own. This however is worse than i had expected. My initial issue was the voice and yes it's really bad. Right in the beginning when zack speaks off of the train on the phone its cringe beyond what should be tolerable.Even putting that aside the main issue is remastering a psp game as if it's a ps5 game. Here's some key points-cut scenes have artifacting like you're showing a 700p video on 4k screen and its very noticeable. These are the psp original and it shows and i think a few near the end have actually gotten remade.-the difference between cutscene Zack and in game zack is really noticable. Yea i know it's a cgi cutscene but zack is originally shown as paler skinnier face character where in game now he's "modern orange" skin with fatter face. No idea what happened there but its awkwardly noticeable when you add in the new voice actors cringe.- environment is in limbo between old and modern and shouldnt have been that way. For example most psp games had blocky building assets with little to no detail since graphical limitation. The "remaster" just adds a fancier modern skin on these assets. So youre left with fancy looking buildings and barren everything around it almost like a asset mod. Its a over simplification but the visuals clash where you expect there to be more detail and there isnt reminding you it is indeed still a PSP game. Meanwhile some of the asset skins are from ff7 remake which makes you expect a higher level of quality which again isnt there-some assets if not many are lazily upscaled instead of replaced to where artifacting is present-something weird is done to zacks model in beginning scene after the train CGI cutscene. There is a grainy pixellation across his face like on his actual skin which looks extremely out of place.Im already regretting it but keeping the disc for collection purposes at this point. This game shouldnt have been a remaster or shouldnt strictly been original remaster upscaled only if anything. It looks and feels like a remake attempt begun and was canceled halfway then spunoff as a cheap cash grab. An emulator wouldve provided a better experience..

I played this back on the PSP and loved it. The remake/remaster is perfect. It streamlined and fixed some of the annoyances. If you loved the original FFVII, or are a fan of the new FFVII, play this. The story will crush your heart at the end even though anyone who has played FFVII knows how this will end for Zack, Cloud and Sephiroth. Just seeing it in more depth and what the characters went through makes it much more emotional.

I've played the psp version and was so excited to see it so freshly updated and remastered for the PS4/5.TBH, The English VO was slightly... well, disappointing. I don't really care much for it either way though, since I always choose to play in Japanese with the subtitles (when it's available). So, that's how I'm playing this specific version of the game now. I'm happy with it.

ちゃんと北米版で届きました。初期設定で日本語音声・日本語字幕でプレイが可能です。(PS4本体の言語が日本語だと自動で設定されます。)まだ序盤の2章までのプレイによるレビューとなっています。PSPドストライクのリアルタイムでFF7CCをプレイしていた世代です。めちゃくちゃ面白かったタイトルだった鮮明な記憶はあるんですが、十年を優に超える昔のことなので肝心なストーリーやプレイ面でどう面白かったかはかなりおぼろげで…またプレイしたい！と思ってソフトはなんとか工面できても、遊び倒して寿命を迎えてしまったPSP実機が再び必要になってくるのが、長い間かなりハードルの高いタイトルになったままでした。そんなクライシスコアが、FF7がリメイクされたことに呼応して再び現世代機で遊べるようになっただけですでに非常に嬉しい。実際に起動して、ムービーや戦闘に触れるうちこんなシーンあったなあ…このステージこんなだっけ…という『思い出し』と『発見』が常に感じられる新しい感覚で楽しくプレイしてます。一番の魅力として、フルボイスが追加されている点。違和感なく、より濃い胸動かされるストーリーを追っていけます。短所として過去の作品のリマスター、さらに言えば携帯機からのリマスターなので、近年のAAAタイトルを遊び慣れた方にとっては、どうしても『全体的な古さ』を感じてしまうと思います。全体を通して訪れることができるマップもありますが、基本的にストーリーが進んでいく１つの章で狭めの1つのステージを進んでいく形です。その合間に『ミッション』と呼ばれるさらに狭いステージで、エネミーを倒してレベルアップやアイテム回収といったRPGにつきものの準備フェイズを経て、次のストーリーへ進む。といった流れで私は進行してます。ミッションはプレイヤーのスキル次第で、装備等が整っていなくてもどんどん先へと進められるミッションもあるので、柔軟に遊べて良い点もあると思います。ただやはり、リマスター版で改善されているとはいえダレるポイントは結構多めです。ここはPSP時代だといつでも遊べるからいつでもやめる、という利点で解消されていましたが、据え置きのコンソールだと知らず知らずのうちに離れてしまう方もいるかも…そういったある意味クラシックな点も、十年以上前だし、レトロゲームだよなというふうにように考えてしまえば幾分とっつきやすくなるかもしれません。総評としては、PSPでクライシスコアをプレイしていたファンの方にとっては文句なしにオススメできます。FFファンだとやはり、FF7が好きだ！という方向け。野村哲也氏作品の雰囲気が好きな人にもオススメ。個人的にクライシスコアの主人公ザックスが、キングダムハーツの主人公ソラと通ずるように感じられるので、ソラが好きな方はザックスも好きになれるかも。キングダムハーツのBBSにも登場しているので、気になる方はそちらも。稚拙な文章でのレビューでしたが、私には時代とプラットフォームを変えながらも楽しくプレイできる色褪せない名作です。ちょっと変わった作品だけど面白いんです！ちなみにPS5未所持なので、PS5へのアップグレードについては不明です。アカウントのリージョン等々引っ掛かる点が出てくるケースも充分考えられるので、そこまで見据えている方は日本語版の購入を強くオススメします。
