Karel J Robot: A Gentle Introduction to the Art of Object-Oriented Programming in Java

Fun to Play Around With
This book definitely helps to understand some of the concepts of Java, and does a pretty good job of outlining the idea of reserved words. The problem-solving exercises and techniques are helpful in developing new skills and getting the programmer into the mindset of solving complex problems. The software that goes along with it is ready to use right from the start, and the possibilities are definitely virtually endless. It does, however, stay somewhat vague, and navigation is difficult (there are no indications of what section of the book you are in at the bottom of the page).

Although the book was very helpful, on page 155 there is a bit of font that is not bold when all the other text is. This mistake is very small but does't take away from the overall helpfulness. I learned a lot from this. 5/5
