The Hype
I’m not sure what all the hype is about with the ones that gave negative reviews. I’ve used mine several times in the first day that I’ve had it out of the box, and have had no issues. I love it! I went with this one, instead of the brothers brand because it had an adapter for a plug into the wall, as well as…it does not waste much tape, where as as the brothers brand wasted a lot of tape, and did not have a plug in wall adapter; only batteries. Have yet to figure out how to decorate the labels before printing, but that will come with time.

So disappointed
Before buying, I asked whether this unit comes with a User Manual (because a different one I ordered didn't). I was assured by the seller that it does & they also sent an attachment that I could print off. The user manual is written in 7 different languages, about 10 pages each. Problem: extremely small, very light grey print. Even with my readers, I had to use a magnifying glass. Then I tried printing the manual that was sent online but it's in legal size - my printer doesn't do legal size paper, and in order to fit it to letter paper, it's again too small. Then I turned unit on using the power cord (which is too short) & discovered that the LCD screen isn't even back-lit. That's when I gave up. This unit seemed to have so much going for it - but it's a real bust for me.

Handy labeler
Handy labeler. The only drawback I find is that it uses a little more tape than I would like. It tends to waste a little bit at the end of a label. It may be that I don’t have the settings correct at this point. I’ll have to check that out a little more closely. It does work well. I use it in the field to label wires and pipes. The batteries don’t last as long as I would like them to but it does come with a power adapter so that’s fine with me. It uses label tape cassettes that I have for another labeler at home so I don’t have to buy specialized tape cassettes. But that’s just for my handiness. Overall I say it’s worth the buy price is satisfactory with function and performance.

Will NOT accept HSe-231 Heat shrink cartridge.
Bought this label printer specifically for labeling network cables. Description says will print heat shrink tubes. Manufacturer stated in answer to 2 questions that would print heat shrink tubes. In one question specifically asking about HSe-231 cartridge states that printer will print this cartridge. I have bought HSe-231 cartridges in 3 different brands and none will fit in printer. The back cover will not close with HSe-231 cartridge. I asked the manufacturer to provide a specific cartridge part number to use for heat shrink tubes and never received an answer. Printer works fine with laminated labels but if you want to print heat shrink tubes then look elsewhere, this printer will be a waste of your time and money as it will NOT do what it claims.

Strange "Bugs"
First the label cassette that came with the unit was "defective" . I purchased multiple other cassettes when I purchased the unit and all of them work correctly, so I was out ~$5.00 for the defective cassette.Second about 1 in 10 of my labels prints with artifacts. As you can see in the image after the "R" it appears that an artifact of another letter not in the label. This happens enough that it gets very annoying. I have not tried other combinations of fonts, as I would like my labels to be consistent, but it does happen on the 3 font sizes. For the price it is hard to complain, but I could have gotten the Brother Printer PTD400 or Brother PT-M95 P-Touch Label Maker for a similar price. I may yet return this label printer.
