Exceeded requirements, good purchase
I bought this to pump water from a creek 180 feet away and 52 feet down a steep slope from my irrigation source tank. Also as a way to move water between irrigation tanks that are a couple hundred feet apart. These are occasional activities, and not daily or periodic. I don't want to install permanent equipment or haul around heavy items, so I was looking for something lightweight/portable, of good quality so it'll last without a lot of maintenance, and powerful enough to push water a fairly long way uphill and in a reasonable amount of time.I've been really happy with it. It's low-maintenance, reliable, and does exactly what I wanted it do remarkably well. It takes approximately 5 minutes to pump 35 gallons from a creek bank 52 feet down vertically and 200 total feet. I don't know what to make of the various pump spec terms I see, in terms of any specific situation I might want to use a pump, but I'm getting 420 gallons an hour up a fairly steep and long hill. .... and I can move it to different locations easily. So I'm happy, giving it a 5, and taking the time to write something. The performance

Good little high banker pump.
I use this as a clean water pump for my high banker/dredge. Easy start every time and runs for about an hour on a tank of gas. Do wish it had a throttle though. There is an aftermarket add on for that.

Good Gear when it runs.
Performing well for the price. The engine does miss a beat every couple of minutes and stopped once unexpectedly the first day but not since and I am using it daily. I am drawing from a pond to irrigate grass surrounding the pond. It has been said this is not for use with sprinklers but I am running 3 Melnor XT4000 Sprinklers using a total of 250 feet of 5/8" hose at only half throttle. The info in the box states a total head of 100 feet which means the pump must produce at least 45 PSI at the pump outlet. It is so much quieter than an electric pump run by a generator.UPDATE: This is the pumps second year. Works great when it runs but it just won't keep running. Sometimes it stumbles before it quits and other times it just shuts off. It can do this 4-5 times an hour. Hard to believe Generac refuses to address this problem.UPDATE: This is the third year for this pump. When it runs it is great but that is not often. Set the throttle any higher than half speed and the engine starts to miss and then shuts off. Tried contacting Generac many times with no response. BUY A DIFFERENT PUMP.

Bad hose kit - Great Pump! Solution included with text.
This small 1" pump is exactly what I needed to fill a 35 gallon poly tank with water from my pond. A 275 gallon IBC tote would take some time but this pump could handle it if given enough time. The problem is the hose kit that comes with the 1" clean water pump. The kit contains sealing rings that significantly reduce the flow. The sealing rings are 1.25" OD x 5/8" ID x 1/8" thick. The ID restriction reduces on the intake hose reduces head pressure and forces the engine to struggle. Try a 30mm O-ring as a replacement for the sealing gasket that comes with the hose kit. When I replaced the 2 sealing rings that came with the kit with 2 O-rings everything improved. The engine did not lug. The output/head pressure increased dramatically. The flow increased as well. The sealing rings tended to fall out every time I disconnected the hoses. Check out the sealing rings replacement costs for part OL63340124. Wow! Those problems were solved by installing O-rings as well. One more comment-the blue discharge hose tends to kink. The head pressure is sometimes insufficient to straighten out the kinks. When the blue discharge hose is laying in a straight line it works great. Consider making a hook out of PVC to fill your tank with. If you have a PVC hook, the blue discharge line will not be kinked at the point at which it enters the tank.Go ahead and purchase the pump. Fix the hose kit immediately.

FIRST PUMP STOLEN.
I have necked down the output to 2 of 3/4 " garden hoses via a 1" tee fitting. When pumping uphill about 15 ' elevation through the two garden hoses, 2 fifty-gallon tanks are filled in ten minutes. I'm more than satisfied with the resulting ten gallons a minute considering how portable this little pump is! NOTE! MY FIRST PUMP WAS STOLEN, SO THIS IS A REORDER OF THE SAME NICE LITTLE PUMP.

Lightweight and Handy
Nice enough little pump. Plastic fittings are junk but can be replaced easily and cheap enough with metal. No directions on the levers or clues as to which setting is for priming, on/off, etc. Haven't used it much, so can't report on if it was worth the money or not. Nice and lightweight.

A well-functioning, sturdy pump
After an initial mix-up of the model ordered, requiring a return of the incorrect pump (at no cost to me) and shipment of the correct item, the pump arrived, well-packed and promptly. After connecting and servicing it according to the instructions, it fired up with no problem. It works exactly as it should. The pump and motor appear well-made and sturdy and the item came with all of the proper hoses and connections. I've used it to pump out an excavation prior to sealing for use as a pond. The water was muddy, with small stones and bits of debris, which the pump handled with no problem. Fuel consumption appears to be good and I and my crew are well-satisfied. A good buy. Recommended.

Wish I could have left zero stars
So for the first 3 uses the pump was amazing worked fantastic, then the handle broke, not a biggie changed that out, then the next time I tried to start the unit the pull cord would just freewheel out, there is a cam inside the starter mechanism that you can see in the picture exploded. called Amazon they told me to contact Generac, Generac sent me on a wild goose chase of repair centers, the first one I went to said they stopped servicing the products days after signing on as it was impossible to deal with them and get parts. The second said you should just buy a new one it would be faster than waiting for warranty parts, the third repair center also said they stopped working with Generac. After 3 or 4 calls back to Generac I finally gave up and went back to Amazon and they were able to assist. Word of advice stay away from this product!
