Nice burner to bring along for any road trip👍
Works great, cooks nice & hot, perfect weight to bring along anywhere you might need to heat up something. Easier to lug around on your next trip (hotel) but I haven't packed it away for a flight. Just for road trips a plus✓

If you buy this remember the where the cooking temperature numbers are on the nob. My wore off.
I bought this as a backup. Just opened it this May. I really liked it, especially it had numbers painted on to pick out the cooking temperature. (My old one was a cheapie.) This morning noticed I have 1 and 4 only. Others must have rubbed off. Fortunately 1 is easy to find—the heat light turns on. And that is hot enough for my usage. Anyway, I can guess the heating temperature, as I did with my old one.

Suitable for boiling water, but not much else.
My wife and I live in a tiny house and our stove replacement for the last 4 years was the Waring double cast iron burner, but it broke on us - the burner wouldn't turn off when it was all the way down. I like for appliances to last longer than 4 years, but since the Waring was pretty much the best we could find, I figured I might as well go cheap, you know, if they're just going to die on us. Also, I wanted to try a different burner "technology".In researching this purchase I found a reviewer who claimed: "the numbers on the dials rubbed off the first time I used it," and I laughed, and thought to myself, "well there's an unhappy person who probably hates everything and always writes 1 star reviews in order to get some kind of kickback." Then I read some of the positive reviews and figured this was a safe purchase. So as not to be a negative nancy, I want to throw out one positive of having this stove, and one type of person it would be good for. What's one good thing about it? The footprint is very small - smaller than the Waring - so much so that we were excited to have more counter space.Who is this good for? Someone who needs an extra burner or two, once or twice a year, to boil water.Reasons I'm displeased with this product, from least to most bothersome:1. The numbers definitely come right off the dial with a gentle rub, and there's NO WAY they don't know this at the factory. SMH. I put a sticker on our dial and marked the hairline between "don't cook" and "burn food instantly." Not that it helped.2. One day the mark on the dial means 250 the next day it means 400. I can't begin to count all the breakfasts and mornings this thing ruined. Maybe the numbers come off the dial because the stove refuses to be told what to do? Or maybe it runs on chaos?3. My cast iron pans skid all over the burner. If I go to move the food in the pan, the pan moves on the burner instead, so no more casually tending the stove with one hand while I gesture flamboyantly at my attentive guests.4. There is NO WAY to know that the burner is on or hot! There is only a light to tell you that the burner is currently getting hotter. When the burner gets to temp, the light turns off and the mystery begins. Is this safe to touch, or will I cook my finger? This is so dangerous it should be illegal.5. The worst of all? The HOT SPOT. Do you see the white circle inside the burner? The actual hot area is within that circle somewhere. It's so bad that it ruined the seasoning finish on my favorite 1 egg cast iron pan. I could cook anything in that pan with no sticking. I really miss that pan. But the takeaway for me was the hot spot was smaller than the bottom of a 1 egg frying pan.I really regret this purchase, and have another 4 year Waring on the way. I'll keep this around for industrious or scientific things so I don't ruin our Waring, but that's it.

Decent for its price range but deficient when it comes to dependability
The Ovente countertop burner with ceramic glass is an excellent addition to any kitchen, surely. It heats up very fast, and very hot provides an easy-to-use device that does not take much to place & start using and eventually gives excellent cooking results as soon as you get used to it. However, that's only in the first couple of months of using the product.I bought it because I wanted an alternative to cook things that didn't use gas. This way I could prepare foods such as omelets, fried & boiled eggs, sausages, etc. that didn't take much time and still receive a great result. But after two months of getting a more-than-decent experience, the burner started to have a few problems.Firstly, the burner started to lose the indication numbers for heat level. This started happening in the first month, without the numbers it started to become a little difficult to know what was the heat level, until I got accustomed and made the indications myself with a permanent colored marker. It was a bit problematic, but nothing out of the ordinary.Secondly, the burner turned on and off while heating. It was a sort of heat protection (I think) that keeps the device from overheating. The problem with this is that the first three levels of heating didn't work when the device sensed overheating. Really I couldn't say what that was, but it happened every time I used the burner for more than 5 minutes. It eventually got annoying to hear the burner go on and off, and a little frustrating I could use the first three levels. However, of course, I could live with this.Thirdly, the ceramic glass on the large side fell off after two months of use. I bought this burner in July and started using it in August. By October, the ceramic glass on the large side of the burner fell off. I don't know how it was attached to the device, but the glass separated from the metal and was sliding off from its place every time I had to place/move the device. I tried gluing it to the device again with temperature-resistant glue, but it fell off two weeks later once again. So it left it like that. Until yesterday.Yesterday while cleaning the device, I turned it 90º by mistake, and the ceramic glass fell to the floor. Here, you can imagine what happened later. A bunch of broken glass I had to swipe off, and an almost useless large burner on the device that I don't know how to fix.So, I could say this device works well when it comes to performance. It may become a little problematic after a month or two, but nothing that would really damage your cooking. However, it is not as dependable or resistant as you would hope.I used it almost every day, so it is easy to say that I might have overused it. However, of course, that's not an excuse for a product that should have lasted more, or at least not give that many problems in such a short period.I give it three stars because it performs well, but it loses two because it could be a little more durable & reliable. Overall, however, it is a great option for the price, as long as you are going to use the device every now and then, and still being aware that after a few hundred uses it could start presenting a few issues.
