These are very small and include all the necessary terminating resistors and filter capacitors on the board. The board is compact enough to fit inside a pvc tee and function as a wind direction sensor.The only downside is the one I have on a test stand in my yard often suffers from wild deflections in the rain. Sometimes it is actually locked 180º off of the actual direction the point is at. This also occurs with the unit mounted next to it which also uses the as5600 chip but on an soic carrier that doesn’t include the resistors and caps. I am using the recommended magnets (from digikey) and at the correct gap from the chip. Both units are highly shielded from water intrusion - I don’t believe they’re getting wet.Form factor wise these ones are perfect, if I can just solve this issue in the rain.
