How to Think Like a Neurologist: A Case-Based Guide to Clinical Reasoning in Neurology

Well-written
As a physician, I enjoyed this book and found it to contain enough cases to refresh my memory of how to approach those rare neurological cases I'd encounter (I'm a surgeon, not a neurologist). I think it would be a good book for review, for third-or-4th-year medical students. Well done.

incredible and engaging while teaching at the same time
As a non-neurologist who works in primary care and emergency departments there are always areas we may not want to go in the medical archives of our training for fear of opening this or that black box.Dr Meltzer’s book is wonderful as it gives medical providers a framework to go about addressing most neurological problems one will see, using the basic history and neurological exam we all had to learn in medical school whilst adding a review of pertinent neuroanatomy with each fascinating case.I finished the book and want to read it again and use it to teach my residents and medical students that neurology can be fun and rewarding when a logical approach is taken. We all had to study neurology. Our patients and their diseases don’t read text books to see whom they should see, so it behooves all medical providers to have a solid basic approach to neurological disorders from the common to the rare. This books gives you that in 30 cases! Excellent!!!

Awesome book
Love this book! Am a geriatrician who works with dementia and a lot of other Neuro conditions. Great review on stuff I knew and great details on stuff I didn’t know as well but see frequently! I also really like the systematic approach and framework for thinking about these conditions. Thank you to the author!

Both fun and educational- but missing something
Very enjoyable read with lots of interesting neuroanatomy. Amazing zebra cases. Great refresher for thinking in detail about neuroanatomy. RECOMMEND for both students and experienced clinicians. I note a lack of follow up on the amazing quirky master class physical exam demonstration. There was no follow up on the introduction of a case patient with alogia. I hope for an addendum.

Extremely poor images
Extremely poor images, especially radiological ones. Horrendous quality for this price. Seems like total disrespect to the readers by the author.
