Face it, you aren't buying it as a fashion statement
First if you are reading this either you or someone you know has an inguinal hernia (or something else) and you are making the purchase to make you more comfortable. The belt works fine, it holds pressure for me anyway at the point I need it as I cannot have scope surgery due to prostate Cx so it would require more down time ( i don't know how it could be more) so no surgery for me at this time.Photo's:from left first, third and forth shows the "reinforced" strip to prevent rollover. it works but does develop a kink which causes a oil can effect( for those of you too young to know what that is old-timer oil cans were fil push from the bottom and it would click)Also you will see cotton pulls, I think this is a combination of the clothes fabric and the belt fabric rubbing but could also be a result of next itemthat Velcro strap, first it sticks to anything. If you see in photo #6 I actually re-attach it to the area where it fastens. They show in the instructions that the strap is going seemingly between the crevice? I did not try as I am not a fan of flossing my ass. I originally tried the strap in the position you see in the photo, it's Velcroed and holds the strap.then I tried to move the strap so it would be more centered. Not only was in more uncomfortable but without it being held by the belt it travels slightly at times and more at others and then you get strap ass. So I put the strap back to where it can attach to the belt and therefore also providing me with a place to secure the strap for removal. You have to negotiate the strap on the hernia side of the boys( sorry women can't help you) and when you do first make sure it's snug, sadly the attaching point although looks sewed well is straight and has no anchor to prevent it from going horizontal yo vertical. This doesn't effect the belt too much while wearing it the only thing you want to make sure of also is that when you run the strap under and through the attaching point make sure to attach the Velcro strap to itself completely and not to your underwear or just half on the strap as the Velcro will find a way to rub an area that wherever it may be you don't really want to be pulling on the area this day and age anywhere where you can be seen or a camera placed as who knows what's someone's interpretation of your crotch maneuvering means to them as they present it to HR, your spouse, co-workers, neighbors etc. you get the idea. if you have the ability or access to someone who sews or a tailor you may want to have the connecting point reinforced at the corners( sewn to each side) so it stays in place and to the manufacturer , I understand this is a bi-directional belt and perhaps you cannot dart the loop until you know what side? Then install two loops going at both diagonal positions and then everyone is more comfortable.Function:It works well, i am not uncomfortable wearing it. It does supply a lot of elastic band pressure around your hips, it cannot ride waist or below as it would not protect the area. Besides the "pillow" it comes with to push back the hernia it also has a pocket I would imagine to increase the pressure on the hernia or maybe body size and shape. They do not supply you with anything but you can fold even a paper towel to get more depth but it is not necessary for my problem.I am retired/disabled with a lot of pain problems etc. I believe my hernia was caused by opioid induced constipation and the desire to go and push.I have not and I would not use the belt while using a seated restroom without removing it, you don't want to be lazy and you probably don't carry a spare.Just advice:If you have a right inguinal hernia and have to use the seat I make sure that for me my left hand stays pressed against the hernia area does prevent it 90% of the time from moving.I do not review items often as I hate to purchase something and the next day they ask how I liked it, how do I know.. Give me time to use it. I purchased these belts on April 3 2021 from Amazon. I purchased the first one about 7-10 days earlier from Everyday Medical direct as the wait/shipping time was indicating sooner and I wanted it sooner so you are looking at about a months wear. Some of my issues that made me purchase the item of course the hernia itself but when I stand in one place as in doing dishes it would be rather uncomfortable and the same would happen while walking, using stairs especially upstairs.I wish everyone good luck with your hernia, the pandemic, and all of the other things to look forward to.If you attach the strap as I do make sure have garments that will go down your leg as Velcro rubbing not so good.I also bought the beige , I don’t know why! I am not matching garments. Maybe it will be the style

Excellent support for the inguinal hernia.
Couldn't get hernia surgery because of heart-attack meds. I used this for 5 months while I waited. It surely did help. It was the only thing that got me through the painful waiting. Had surgery and used it post-op while I was healing. THANKS so much. GREAT PRODUCT.I didn't use the extra strap that goes through the crotch. That was a huge nusiance. Always in the way. Glad it was detachable.

If you need it..... it worked for me.
Well, I hate to say I even needed this in the first place, but there it is. Fortunately, I only had to wait a few weeks until surgery, but I got this as soon as I knew what I had going on.Received the package in good order, and figured out how to put it on. NOT the most comfortable thing in the world, but... it DID reduce my pain significantly and allowed me to work, almost as normal. I'd compare it to one of those flexible back braces that wrap around your lower back with velcro, but.... for a groin hernia.Simple enough, elastic belt with an extra strap and pad to place over the hernia. You create enough pressure with the belt and pad to hold the hernia closed, and yay! it hurts quite a bit less. But it isn't exactly comfortable. Kinda felt like having a baseball jammed down my shorts on the side of my crotch. That being said, it felt BETTER that way than without the belt at all. Uncomfortable as it was, I was able to manage my daily tasks and yard work with relatively minimal pain, compared to what I had been experiencing. For that, I cannot give this hernia belt less than 4 stars. I would give it five stars, but then I'd be loving a hernia belt, which was uncomfortable, and therefore I did not love it. I did, however, like very much, the reduction in pain I experienced, while using this odd baseball in crotch like device.

If you have this type of hernia, get it.
It takes some getting used to get the adjustment correct, but I learned to slide it on an off.

This is a good product and it works
I unfortunately have a Hernia. This is the best product I have found to hold my Hernia in place while I wait to have an operation. I can go for walks, [play golf and dance.

This helped keep the hernia from bulging out causing pain.
I could not have continued working without this. It helped me out until Surgery day. It ended up being a mandatory item each day. Couldn’t get by without it. Thanks for a great product!!

!!! Took me from painfully immobile to painfree & mobile, instantly !!!
Developed inguinal hernia & can't get treatment because of Covid. Reached point where couldn't stand for more than 3 to 4 mins without having to lie down to relieve pain, which made even simple tasks like shaving or cleaning teeth an ordeal. Bought this hernia guard as last resort, with no real expectation of success. However, put on guard at midday today & have now been active for 5 hours with no hernia pain whatsoever !!! Got my life back !!! Unbelievable !!!

Well made with good materials
Well made and comfortable. It takes a little while to get the fitting correct but once sorted all is well.Several small issues, the egg shaped padded insert supplied is far too big, eventually I inserted folded padding I had into the pocket behind the shield, this has worked very well and is far more comfortable than the object supplied. For obvious reasons I wear this next to my skin and it is very comfortable BUT you must be carful to correctly line up the Velcro or it will chaff and create sore patches. The buckle to feed the retaining strap through is fitted to the shield and although not large tends to dig into your groin.Putting aside these small irritations this is an excellent product and works very well, a good buy.

A hernia belt that works.
initially I had no great expectations, but was very pleasantly surprised. I fitted the item when delivered and found complete comfort straight away. The fitting is straight forward. The belt fits around the hips not the waist, so feels a little awkward at first. There has to be some adjustment, as we are all different, but I found the belt comfortable. I have now worn the belt for three days and the relief has been wonderful. There were reviews, which stated the padding was too hard and large, I have not found this the case, but not all hernia's are the same, so this must be kept in mind. For me, this has been an item that does as it states and I would recommend it.Now having worn this item for a number of week and I have found as my hernia has weaken, the pad has been found to be too hard. I have now removed and replaced with a sock for comfort. It is important, not to wear the belt too tight, as it could, as it did in my case cause sciatica (pressure on a nerve in the leg, leading to pain).

Worth the buy for support
Decided to purchase this product whilst waiting for my appointment at the hospital just to give support to the area during work as gravity isn't your friend in with a hernia not used much at home only for sleep where you can sleep comfortably on either side these belts are designed for support they wont fix the split in your stomach but can push the bulge back but once the tissue is damaged the area needs fixing knowing you have support so far I am satisfied with this product and would reccomend to others thank you 6 to 10 week wait for my consultation at the hospital

Do the job but uncomfortable to wear
I found the support belt worked, but it was uncomfortable to wear, especially when sitting down, so I returned the item for a refund. I ended up getting a support brief on prescription from the NHS for free. My doctor was not at all helpful, as she told me the NHS did not provide anything, but she was wrong. You can get up to three pairs of briefs a year on prescription. I have also been advised the waiting time to see a consultant on the NHS is over a year so I have decided to go private.
