Great for traveling with a laptop
-- First impressionsThe box is small, just big enough so it doesn’t waste too much space or energy getting to where it’s going. The package contains the dock, a flat USB type C cable, a small manual and some protective foam to keep everything in place. The dock is made of metal, which should help with heat dissipation, the screen at the top is barely visible when turned off, giving the dock a sleek, modern appearance.-- Initial setupThe computer port is on one of the short ends of the device. I thought it was broken for a second because I was using the wrong port to plug it in and that obviously didn’t work. The port is clearly labeled, I just didn’t read the instructions. The instructions are clear and correct. The included flat type-c cable is flexible and pretty short, fits on the desk nicely and bends enough that most orientations of your laptop and the dock will be doable. One very important feature is that the cable isn’t permanently attached to the dock. If the cable doesn’t fit your space, is too short or breaks, just use a different one.-- ScreenThe small screen on top is a cool, nerdy feature of this dock. The button on the side allows you to switch the orientation of the screen so it’s always right-side up, no matter how you placed the dock. The button also allows you to browse through several menus, giving information about the connected display, the power configuration of the connected charger and laptop, a control panel with more options than anyone needs, a firmware update utility and an option to restart the dock without unplugging it. I especially like the indications of the connected devices (USB-A, C and ethernet), their speeds and protocol versions. No more grabbing the wrong cable or USB stick and wondering while your file copy is taking much longer than you expected. The screen will tell you instantly whether the device you just plugged in is working at the expected speed.-- Performance and heatI tested the dock using a Samsung 970 EVO NVME SSD while also connected to an external display (1080p) and was unable to detect any difference in speed between connecting the SSD via the dock and directly to the host PC. The computer side of the dock did get fairly hot to the touch during these tests but that’s quite common for these docks, especially the smaller ones. The dock case dock has some ventilation slits on that side and the control panel screen mentions a fan, but I haven’t been able to see that fan in action, if it really has one.-- CompatibilityI have tried the dock and all its features (External display, Ethernet and all the USB ports) with various host systems. An i9 MacBook Pro (late 2019, “MacBookPro16,1”), Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch, iPad Pro and finally a PineBook Pro.On the MacBook Pro 2019, all features worked as expected. Powering the dock with a 94W Apple USB-C charger, the laptop charged at 74W, which isn’t its maximum power, but is plenty to keep the laptop running and charge the battery at the same time. The Ethernet port worked at full speed (1 Gbit), the USB ports all worked and had their connected devices perform as expected. HDMI display worked fine at 1080p, unfortunately I don’t have a 4k display to test with. This seems like a great travel dock for a MacBook Pro considering its small size. The Steam Deck was a little less happy with this dock. When connecting the Steam Deck, powering the dock with the same 94W Apple charger, I got a warning that it was connected to a “slow charger” and the dock display indicated it was charging at 39W. Considering the dock is capable of delivering more power than that, I’m blaming the Steam Deck for the incompatibility here and hope either the dock or the Steam Deck will get updated to fix this incompatibility. The external display, USB ports and wired ethernet connection all worked perfectly fine with the Steam Deck.My iPad Pro also charged at anywhere between 2W and 39W, this depends on how full the iPad’s battery already is, it reduces the power as the battery charges. The highest number I’ve seen is 39W, which is a little strange singe Apple states 18W as this device’s maximum charging power. The external display, USB ports and ethernet all worked as expected and without any issues or configuration, just plug & play. With a Nintendo Switch, USB docks are pretty hit and miss. Some work great, others don’t work at all. This is one of those that doesn’t work at all. When connected to my Nintendo Switch, the dock and the switch seem unable to agree on charging settings and just end up in an infinite loop. The switch doesn’t charge, ethernet, nor USB ports work and the external display stays blank. Finally, the PineBook Pro. This is a very niche piece of hardware, strictly for enthousiasts and hardware hackers. This cheap Linux laptop is extremely picky about USB hubs, not working at all with quite a lot of them. With this dock, the USB ports and Ethernet work but the PineBook Pro is unable to recognize the external display, leaving it blank.-- ConclusionIf you want to use this dock with a Windows or Mac laptop, go ahead and buy it. It works great for that. Full charging and data transfer speeds, sleek and modern look, detachable cable, what’s not to like? If you have more exotic requirements such as Linux laptops, gaming consoles or other portable devices, etc. give it a good test before you decide to put it in your everyday carry bag. You may want to get a protective bag for it, it looks too nice to just be thrown into a backpack with a bunch of sharp objects that may scratch it.

Looks cool but that's about it
It works well, I'm a person who likes to see information and that is basically the selling point of the dock. You have full control over the settings and know that exactly what is running and at what speeds.HDMI port don't always work, sometimes I have to restart the dock for the HDMI to work (did not unplug dock).Charging speed is not as smart as I would like. I use a multiport 100w charger with 20w going to the dock. So my charging speed is only 80w. When I plug my phone into that charger, I see the dock steps down the power draw accordingly but when I unplug it does not step up the charging. You will have to restart the dock to run it full throttle again. These had caused me to have flat battery on my laptop.Only recommended if you like seeing info on the screen.

Fantastic dock!
This dock works exactly as described for me. Fan was inaudible (had to put a ribbon next to the fan to make sure it was on), and all ports worked perfectly. My notes to prospective buyers are that the ethernet plug is difficult to plug and unplug, the USB ports are not designed to pass much power through, only the one laptop plug provides all the power, and the settings are a little confusing to navigate. Once it is setup the way I wanted it though, it worked perfectly.2 month Edit: After two months of use, I've left the settings alone (giving maximum power to the dock, and leaving most everything else stock), and it's been stable and reliable so I was able to confidently let a friend borrow it, who used it as a monitor extender, usb hub dock that kept her laptop charged while she worked. Highly recommend this little guy if you need a portable dock to throw in your bag with your laptop. Super easy to pack, highly useful.Words of caution: This thing looks fantastic, but part of what makes it look so nice is a glass top, I'm sure it's resistant to shattering, but I'm paranoid, and make sure to pack it in a safe spot.

Great Visual USB-C Hub
This is a great USB hub for your Mac. Two usb-c ports, four usb-a ports (two on each side), an HDMI, a giga-bit port, and a 4k HDMI port. The best part beyond the compact size is that it has a color coded screen so you can quickly see what is going on with the ports. The only thing that is missing is a small pouch or carrying case so it won't get damaged in my laptop bag.
