Love it!
I'm about 75 hours into the game now and I love this game so much!!! I was really apprehensive because of the reviews because of frame rate but aside from this the game is wonderful. I have really bad ADHD and finding the little sparkles and pokeballs all throughout the game really helps me to keep focused and grabs my attention.

Good
The code worked good for me to be able to download the game onto my Nintendo Switch. It came quickly as well. The game itself it pretty fun. Definitely a nice new take on the Pokemon series with it being fully opened (which I personally really enjoyed)Story is as you'd expect from a Pokemon game.

Good game
Good game - not great game. But it's fun and it's pokemon so thats a thing! No, seriously, it's worth playing.

I’ve enjoyed the game so far, even being a 90s Pokémon fan
I was very hesitant to buy this game after hearing about the crash reports and the new silly terrestrial style Pokémon. But after playing the game I haven’t had my game crash once, and if you don’t like the terrestrial aspect (which I still don’t) then you really don’t need to worry about it in the game or waste time doing it unless you are in a battle and want to ensure you have extra power to win. It really doesn’t ruin the game one bit. The game has amazing game play and great Pokémon! I wish the starters were better but it’s not that big of a deal, the fire pokemon has cool evolutions. Get the game it’s fun!

Great Game, ignore the MINOR glitches
Game is great. Most of the bad reviews on here are due to the digital code being difficult to access. It was a bit of a hassle but once you realize you have to squat scroll to the actual order (not use search box) and access the code from there, it was easy. I love the game play. So far it’s been great! Minus some glitches but that’s okay, they are rather amusing. A lot of bad reviews also reference the glitches as well and say that it shouldn’t have been released as such… But imagine the reaction from everyone who pre-ordered if they DELAYED the release. Just suck it up until they patch it. It’s a really good game despite the glitches.

Hey that’s pretty good 👍
Overall review:Do you or a loved one like pokemon? Then get the game. Not sure what you were expecting :/The Good:Probably the best pokemon game to come out in the past decade. Definitely one of those games where you can just have fun. Best story coming from the Pokémon company, characters actually feel like they have personality, and the designs are what they should be (cute, no thoughts, yep that’s a monster, and huh?). There’s a “co-op” mode that makes playing with friends a lot more fun than just trading/battling or raid dens. The Bad:Frame drops are still prevalent in the lake, top of the snowy mountain, and desert town. While game crashes have significantly decreased since launch they are still annoying and the auto save feature isn’t at short enough intervals to not need a manual save after any exciting catch. Moving objects (the windmill is the most obvious) have terrible frames, there could be proximity frame timing in said structures to make the game feel more polished.Mixed? Thoughts:(Sarcastic sarcasm moment - The co-op. You and a friend want to do overworld doubles battles against NPCs and wild pokemon! No… you can’t. Want to complete the Pokédex! Unless you have friends and their switch friend code you can’t :) )The co-op has great potential, but is limited to your switch friends list and is lacking features that make it true co-op. Not sure how much is a limitation of the switch and how much is gamefreak design, especially with a pokemon you can only evolve in the coop mode, feels like a gimmick that needs to cook a bit longer.

Yep, that was a pokemon game..... sigh.
Pokemon Violet starts out incredibly weak compared to other games in the franchise. Unlike its main competitor Pokemon Scarlet, this game lacks the innovation provided by new additions, story beats, and a colorful cast of characters. Pokemon Violet commands far less respect from start to finish; if not for the price difference, I would never recommend anyone buy this game. The only point I can give Pokemon Violet in its favor is that buying it made me realize that I was wasting a lot of my free time playing mediocre games and that I should go play good games like Pokemon Scarlet.
