Clean Sweep - Pun intended
I had an expensive Tineco floor washer and after four years it broke down and they don't make parts for it anymore. So there's $400 down the drain. This new unit is very efficient, very easy to use, and very easy to clean. And for the price point it's an excellent purchase and I highly recommend it if you're choosing this type of floor cleaner. Our home is all vinyl flooring so it was nice to be able to replace the previous unit to keep our home clean. Also, a very pleasant smelling soap concentrate.

Easy to use and maintain; effective cleaning performance
I couldn’t decide between the corded Hyrovac and the corded Bissell Crosswave until I saw a head-to-head comparison video of the two on Vacuum Wars. The key points that swayed my decision to the Hydrovac were the much easier filter cleaning, the easier self-cleaning, the better/smoother swivel action, and the fact that, despite less raw power, the effective cleaning ability was a draw between the two. Add to that the much lower price for the Hydrovac and the decision was easy.So far I’ve been very pleased with this. It’s easy to use, does a very nice job on tile floors, and is easy to maintain. The cons for me are mostly along the lines of build quality issues. For example, the filter holder is not all that sturdy, so you need to take care when opening it to not break the plastic tabs. But, I have two other Shark vacs, and while they both have some less than ideal build quality issues, neither has failed on me yet. So I’m hoping for an equally long life from this Hydrovac. You can use other cleaners in this provided they are low/no suds. The Shark cleaner works well, but it’s quite pricey. There are other equally good cleaners from Hoover, Bissell and commercial cleaners (such as Ludmark) that cost less per use and work just fine in the Hydrovac. You don’t want to use an acidic cleaner (such as vinegar) or any cleaner that has suds since those will damage the water pump in the Hydrovac. It’s well worth picking up a spare set of filters and rollers. While the roller gets pretty well cleaned in the self-clean cycle, it’s still worth giving it a good hand wash. Plus, it’s not recommended to store the machine with a wet roller or wet filter to prevent mold/mildew. If you have spares you can swap out the wet ones for dry ones, and let the wet ones air dry.The Hydrovac has cut down on my cleaning time without any decrease in how clean the floors get. That’s worth five stars in my book!

UP DAYE 4/9/24 Please read before buying a Shark Hydrovac
Update 4/9/24 Just talked to Shark warranty about my 6 month old Hydrovac that has been used 4 times. They do not pay for labor and shipping. They will provide me with a new motor and they tell me I must install it my self! The lady told me it’s easy, you take apart the whole machine and replace the motor! They tried charging me for the shipping a a unit with a three year warranty. The Amazon site states the warranty is replace or repair including parts and labor. Based on my experience with Shark their statement is false and misleading. I have bought Shark vacuums for many years but this is the last time.Shark makes top of the line vacuums. Their quality is excellent. THE HYDROVAC IS NOT OF THE SAME QUALITY! It is basically a small car vacuum with a rotating paint roller that is supposed to clean hard surfaces flooring and then vacuum up the dirt and water. The roller puts very little scrubbing power to the floor. It pretty much just lays out a cleaning solution as it vacuums up a tiny bit of the solution. The rest of the dilution just dries over time. It does leave a nice sents but it is not something that will clean a kitchen hardwood or tile floor to the minimum level most everyone would expect. It has a hard time with anything that has dries on the floor. Most of the time it requires cleaning by hand and then you can use the sharp. That kind of defeats the purpose of buying a Hydrovac. Now let’s talk about the real problem. We have used it about 4 time to clean out family and kitchen tile floors. Today a red light came on and 2 seconds later the machine stops. The light is stating the dirty water is full. Guess what,, it’s empty. We cleaned the dirty water cup and the filter until it looked new, thinking that must be the issue,, it was not and the light keeps coming on and the machine shuts down. I decided to go on Google to see if other are having the same problem, guess what ?? A extra ordinary large amount of people have the exact same problem with both the dirty water reservoir being empty and the machine seeing it as full and shutting down. Others have problems with the clean water reservoir sensor turning the machine off because of no water in the reservoir but the reservoir is full!!I really like Shark products, but this is a failure and is not worth purchasing even if it’s on sale. Based on the complaints on Google and YouTube, the Hydrovac is not a home cleaning tool that has longevity. It’s a poorly designed products with the Shark name in it. All of the other Shark products we own are well built and powerful. The Hydrovac is cheaply made and has no power to decisively complete the job it was built to do.Save your money. Wait until they redesign this machine which I am sure they will do with all the problems they are having with the Hydrovac.
