I just want to tell you that this is MUCH MORE than a tracker - it is PEACE OF MIND - worked flawlessly to and from London for the Coronation of King Charles III - I am so happy I found this and will buy more for friends and family. Thanks so much!

UPDATE#3 After extensively testing "Battery Saver Mode" I have upgraded to 4 stars. If you have an older one of these devices, make sure to update the app for better performance Ongoing improvements in the app are encouraging..UPDATE#2 After further testing I decided to scrap my original review write a new one, and update to three stars. I have only tested "Standard Mode". "Battery Saver Mode" will be tested after Thanksgiving. "Flight Mode" will be tested even later. More updates will follow.This still seems to be a Beta test product in need of refinement, and refinements are being made at a good pace. Customer support has been much better than most companies I have dealt with. My hope is that performance improves to the level of 4 or 5 stars. I no longer regret buying it, because this product has the potential to be very good, but getting there will take time.PROS: Follows FAA rules - shuts down on takeoff and reactivates on landing. Other trackers in checked luggage may be illegal to use, but sellers might not tell you that. I think this is very important, but others may disagree.It does provide a reasonably good track if you are walking or driving. Since it only reports every three minutes, the trip map is choppy. I call this a Pro because it conserves battery life and reduces annual SMS tracking fees. Other trackers might offer more frequent reporting by using bigger batteries and higher fees.Note that the "Safe area" or "Home" detection area is highly variable because of the location detection method using GPS (outside) and cell tower information (inside and outside). Other similar trackers do similar things, but may not tell you about it. I believe this feature is undergoing revision.CONS: Documentation - needs improvement. App - needs improvement. Notifications: you must have texting service on your phone because all notifications are by SMS.Battery life - Short. You need to be prepared to charge it up every few days if you are actively using it. If you're not using it, it can apparently go into some kind of sleep mode to conserve some battery life. More on battery life later.No WiFi or Bluetooth - Unable to provide very close location if GPS signal is degraded. Outdoors with good GPS signal, tracking can be very close. Indoors with cell tower triangulation, not so close.Once 4G SMS service disappears in favor of 5G or 6G in a few years, this device may become less useful. It can still track you with GPS, but won't be able to report your location to your phone. Whether this can be fixed by a sim card swap is unknown. Many other trackers have this issue.OVERALL OPINION: I'd like it to be much better (and it is improving), but it has features I consider critical. I haven't found them elsewhere. If you will never use this device to track your airplane luggage, you might want to get something else. If you're going to be on an airplane, definitely get this device.

Trip to Madrid with a stopover in NYC. Unfortunately my luggage did not arrive with me, it had been left in NYC so I made the claim with the airline. The next day, the GEGO App let me know that my luggage had arrived in Madrid. So I went to the airport but the airline denied it, saying that it was still in NYC. After insisting, they let me go to the carousel and there it was, my suitcase! Thanks GEGO, you saved my trip!

I turned it on it would only show for one location. I rebooted it as suggested when I asked for help, it still did not work, when I was in Mexico it still would not work so I returned it.

The battery only lasts for a few days and there is no switch to turn it off. You have to remember to charge it the night before a flight, because it will inevitibly be dead even if you put it into standby mode.The antennas aren't very sensitive and easily blocked by building materials, so quite slow to announce arrivals and may be blocked entirely. Still, better than not having a tracker at all. Seems that these issues could be resolved with modest engineering effort.

I travel a lot, take samples and important business material with me, so knowing that my luggage is safe and being able to quickly locate it at arrival, it is paramount for me. This device does exactly what I expected. Tested in town and just on my recent trip to Texas couple of days ago, awesome results. Thank you GEGO!!

I’m not usually the type of person that leaves a review for every single product I purchase. When I find a product useful and helpful for people to utilize, I like to share my opinion. I think this product is effective and convenient to track your belongings and people. As soon as I got it I placed it in my daughter’s purse and was able to track her down until she was home the next morning. The next morning, I attended a wedding in Los Cabos and tracked down my luggage as we speak (Yeah, I’m one of the lucky people who’s luggage has been lost a few times). This is really great for a tracking device! If you are a person who travels for work then you definitely should get one!

Owner’s manual is lacking to say the least! Very little information on Subscription and how it can be used -eg, can a month subscription be paused after the flight , and turn back on for ( NO ) the flight home ? Customer Service is via on line only and Slow to respond at best , then question is not fully answered. As A UPDATE 10/01/2023 , I recently used the GEGO on a 5 leg west coast US to Spain 20 day trip. Peace of Mind makes this a great product. IF ONLY the owners manual was more informative. With the above questions/issues.
