Could be great .UPDATE IT IS GREAT
I am a little disappointed, I expected better. first let talk about the pro and conPRO:- Sound is AMAZING- Built in FM radio- Good looking Helmet with safety light (on or blinking) at the back of the helmet- Modular but feel solidCON:- Size chart is off. Err on the small side. Be aware- Charging magnetized plug is IDIOTIC. Does not stay in place. Why not use a micro USB ????????- WORSE THAN ANYTHING, the app (at least for Google, I don't have an iPhone) is WORTHLESS. Even when the helmet is pair with your phone, the app shows that the helmet is not and makes difficult if not impossible to access the setting.- The light in the back does NOT work. Is it because of the app (the only way to turn the light on and off or just malfunction from the start. I do not know. But one main feature of this helmet isn't workingI reorder a bigger size and hope that the light is working, if not it's a bummer but I will keep it just because the sound is just incredible even at high speedReturned the medium size and got a large. Fits much better. Also the light is now working and the apps seems to connect better. So updated the review to a 5 stars. Very quiet and sound is really fantastic

Super happy with the purchase
I wanted to get a helmet that had a built in system. I just happen to come across a YouTube video that feature 2024 top 5 best smart motorcycle helmets. Now I watch not just one but 3 different videos on this subject. And all videos they feature ”Sena impulse” and a couple of other ones. But this one is the smallest shell size . That won’t look like a mushroom or bobble head. I saw a video on RevZilla where I got a good ideal how it will look on me. So with that out of the way let talk about fitment, I wear a medium and got a medium and it fits perfectly. It was a little snug but still feels really comfortable. It doesn’t feel like my face in a vice like some other brands I have tried. It’s also nice that it comes with a pin lock, so no need to purchase one. The vents work perfectly especially if sitting in traffic. I really like the drop down sun shade inside the helmet. Now as far as the sound… it’s is top notch, the music is amazing and come in clean and crisp. Phone calls are excellent as well . With the easy to use buttons on the side of the helmets , it make it perfect to operate while riding . Now there are a couple of cons, or gripes that I have . The first one is there’s no d ring , so I can’t use my handlebars helmet lock that uses the d ring to lock it to. Second they only make a black tint face shield no other colors. Thats it ….and they are definitely not no deal breakers. In all I am very happy with the helmet , for the price it met my expectations. Especially when the whole system is included plus fitment and the sound quality is amazing .

Battery life
Helmet is perfect. Sound very good. Battery life horrible. In 8 months my Sena unit's battery drains in just 30 minutes without music just standing by for calls. I will see if there is room for a Cardo unit

Great volume loudness but...
I have an ILM $80 helmet which I enjoy wearing. But I wanted a bit higher end helmet with bluetooth. The ILM 902/935 got shotty reviews but I picked one up anyway. The large helmet fix WAY tight, the sound was sub par and there was a constant electronic crackle when connected to my iPhone. I returned it now having the Sena Impulse in my hands. I took a gamble and ordered an x-large and the size feels very tight. I have to open the front face of the helmet to get my head in. Once I got my head in, I found the sound and volume levels very nice/loud. Calls, music, Siri and status' come in clear <60 mph. With the louder volume, music "can" be heard" but Siri can get confused with wind noise. But I have had some successes abate with multiple tries for the same TN or GPS request. Most helmet have a dial to control the bluetooth. This one has 4 buttons which I imagine feels like Im learning brail every time I make a change. The extra thick ((battery warming) gloves Im sure dont help. I think from extra usage I'll eventually learn Sena brail (which I am not a fan of). Also the manual claims there is a charging dongle and a usb_c cable (with the same magnetic connector as the dongle) that is suppose to be supplied. Im talking to support about the missing cable now so we'll see.... I have usb-c cables but if I lose the dongle Im hosed. I'm deciding to keep the Sena ($599) which will pay off with longer ride but will wear my ILM (non bluetooth helmet) for shorter ones as I can pop my head into the (Large size) hole with out opening the chin guard and its a cool looking red. Sena only comes in black or white :(So here I make a weird comment. Am I keeping it? Yes. Would I buy it again? Maybe as I'd look at other options first. Would I recommend it? Yeah, if your head was smaller, got your usb-c cable and want to learn Sena brail! Again Sena has the loudest volume option that I have experience so far and that tipped the scales for me.Update 30 days later: After 30 days of usage I would love to return the helmet. With ILM I wear a Large but with a XLarge Sena the helmet gives me a headache due to the tightness. I cannot put on the helmet without opening the front shell and spreading the sides.I did call support about the missing charging cable and never got results so I need to be extra careful with my proprietary charging dongle as without would make the blue tooth useless without charging. Again the blue tooth sound is the loudest I've ever experience but would I recommend or buy this helmet again? Probably not. Due to the tightness, my daily helmet goes to my $80 ILM.

Excellent In Most Ways
i was disappointed in two things: 1. Only 2 blah colors available, white and matte black. I ordered the Matte Black but have always preferred gloss black 2. Size chart indicated I needed a size, "Large". Size Large was much too tight and chin bar would not fit past my chin and therefore could not lock. I was very bummed by the bad fit after closely following size chart instructions. Otherwise for the price the quality is very good and the built-in Sena Mesh Comm system would have been great. Had to return. Afraid now to waste time ordering a larger size, like XL, which, after calling Sena tech support, offers no hope of fitting any better chin wise. Will think about trying the XL but still would not be happy with the matte black. I may have to spend several more hundred more bucks for a Shoei Neotech 3 which has many color choices and made to fit the Sena SRL3 comm system. Don't let my experience make you decide against the Sena Impulse. It's a good helmet, just doesn't fit my noggin.
