Kinda scratchy if too sharp.Once it blunts down a little, it becomes very smooth.It definitely writes better even with less pressure on the pencil, which makes your writing experience feel smoother because you don't need as much pressure on the pencil tip.

Since discovering Blackwing pencils I won't use anything else. Smooth, dark, a pleasure to use for writing or drawing.

My bf got surprised me with these as a Christmas gift and I loved it. They smell great too (cedar) and best of all, write really well and smoothly (if you like that soft feel).

They do what they were made to do. But I’m not seeing a great difference in some of my cheaper pencils. But they are nice.

It’s a blackwing alright but the wood quality seems a lot cheaper on this special edition than on the core originals. I will stick with my Pearl.

I don't know why I decided to splurge on pencils but I am glad I did.

Je ne peux qu'être satisfaite de ce produit haut de gamme .oui ils sont assez dispendieux , mais je ne regrette pas de me permettre cette qualité pour réaliser mes dessins.Je recommande vivement .
