Q: I have a brightly lit street outside of my apartment that makes it hard to sleep as night. How much light does this film block at night?

The film doesn't block out night light at all. it only shades the sun during the day to cut down on heat or cold and people can't see through it when looking in from outside when its sunny. if its dark outside, it makes it so people can see in. does nothing.

Q: How does it work on a cloudy day?

Light transmission is reduced so it will be darker inside on a cloudy day. Similar to light filtering blinds.

Q: Can this be used on cars

Bought and installed this product just fine on my 2017 honda cr-v. This tint is higher quality than most auto tint, and i had no prob installing myself. Just use a perfect ratio shampoo to distilled water mix so as not to extend the curing time. Squeegee all of the bubbles and excess moisture out inmediately, and if possible park the vehicle in direct sunlight for about an hour after you apply this and you will be fine. 24hrs later had a bubble free professional looking 1-way mirror effect on my rear windows.
