Highly recommended.
Bought to replace an older drill from another manufacturer ... the batteries were starting to weaken and I cannot buy any replacements - around fifteen years old but still?I have bought a lot of Dewalt items over the years, and have always found that paying the extra has been worth it; so that was where I looked for this replacement. This drill is smaller and lighter than my old unit, but the power is astonishing ... I have found nothing that this will not go through, and until I got the torque right for the jobs, was stripping more screw heads than ever because it keeps going no matter what! The light is a brilliant touch, and the batteries last well ... I cannot tell you how long because I have not run one out yet!Case is great and keeps the tool well protected and easy to find ... I always make sure they come with a case.

Excellent tool. Solid, reliable and easy to use.
Had this for a few months now. No complaints at all. It's done everything I've asked of it.Adjustable clutch provides a really useful range of torque settings.2 speed ranges and pressure sensitive trigger provide excellent speed control. You can undo screws etc. in an instant. The battery lasts a really long time. I haven't managed to drain it yet. I top it up now and again. I haven't had to buy a spare battery.Well balanced. Feels comfortable and ergonomic.I'd buy it again. Although it may be cheaper to buy the body, battery and charger separately. I don't use the case personally.

Impressive Product and Customer Service
Although I have been a long term customer, this is my very first review posted on Amazon as I am extremely impressed with their service. The quality of customer service is only really evident when things go wrong, as they did when I ordered this cordless drill. It arrived yesterday within a couple of days or ordering despite it being on standard delivery. My old MAC drill was getting past it and I wanted to upgrade. The DeWalt range is impressive, no question, and this drill reflected it – sturdy, well packaged and obviously made for the professional. A serious bit of equipment!I unpacked it and tried it. All looks good. I then unpacked the charger, plugged it in, inserted the battery pack and… nothing… no charging light, nothing. I re-read instructions and yes, there should be a flashing red light indicating charge. There wasn’t, so I knew it had to go back.I went online to organise and print off the returns label. Packaged it all up and dropped it off at a local Amazon appointed drop-off. I received an email from Amazon saying the replacement has been ordered. That was 2pm yesterday.Today at 10:00am the replacement arrived! How excellent is that!!!???Impressive!!!

Great, but not without issues
Having been in the middle of a building project for a number of months now it's hard not to notice the proliferation of Dewalt tools used by the builders, electricians, plumbers etc. When my old Ryobi 18V drill/driver gave up the ghost recently (in fairness it was never great) I decided to treat myself to a DeWalt. I decided on this model as it had the all metal chuck and was brushless. The compact form factor was also a key factor. When the first one arrived on Thursday I have to say that I was disappointed. The clamshell case was out of alignment quite badly and the battery was very loose. I immediately contacted Amazon who sent me a replacement which I got the next day (well done Amazon, great customer service). Whilst the case on the new one was much better, the battery was still a little bit on the loose side. Having googled this problem it appears that this is a well known issue on a number of DeWalt powertools. Having been assured by these reports that this issue doesn't affect the performance of the drill I decided to hang onto it and see how it performed.Having spent 10 hours yesterday building some speaker boxes and drilling holes for speaker wires in a ceiling I can now report that it's a little powerhouse of a machine. I also used the hammer setting for drilling into bricks to put up some battens and it made light work of that too. Surprisingly after all that work the battery indicator was still showing almost full charge. Amazing. It's going to get loads more work over the coming weeks so time will tell how it performs longer term. So far though very pleased with its performance, if not the finishing touches of the case.

Chuck Wobble!
I had a 12v Dwalt for 10 years or so and I was really happy with it, but with the batteries having given up and wanting to try the latest technology and have a bit more grunt I liked the look of the 795. Drill was received quickly, first impressions were great. Good balance and comfort. Great feel, certainly more powerful and versatile than I really need for use around the house, but.... The chuck wobbles. I don't mean just slightly, it is quite pronounced. I had a look on line and it seems to be a problem with this Dwalt model. You just don't expect this from a manufacturer of professional kit. I had another one sent out but it is just the same.

worth it!
Up to now I've had decent "home" diy tools. When my faithful Bosch cordless finall gave up the ghost after almost six years I decided to take the plunge and go to the next level. That was such a great decision! This drill/driver has all the power and more importantly the control that I think I'll ever need. If you need a tough, hard working drill with great battery life it's a good choice. Can't tell you if there are better makes out there as I don't have experience of any other top brands but very happy with my purchase.
