Great bath for hands free bathing
We had a standard plastic baby bath. First 12 weeks went well and our bub loved his baths. Come about 13 weeks, he starts kicking off in the bath. We spend about 2 weeks desperately trying to work out what has made him suddenly hate his bath and then we realised he wanted to sit up, but he wasn’t able to sit up on his own yet and it was horrifically awkward and back-breaking to lean over and hold him in a sitting position without him sliding about everywhere.Cue the Shnuggle bath- we bought one hoping it might help but resigned to probably having awful bath times for the foreseeable future. Oh my god. He was like a different baby! He sat, leaning backwards on the wee foam back and splashing and playing with his bath book. Bath time was fun again! He doesn’t slip or slide about (but you have to make sure you sit him in squarely or he’ll lean to the side) and he’s perfectly content in the water up to his belly. Bonus that you don’t need to hold him! For a newborn you might still want to hold them just to be sure but our 15 week old (big for his age at 17.5lbs) needs no hands-on support and you can just focus on playing and washing. I wish I’d bought it sooner as my back really hurt with the ordinary bath and constantly leaning over and holding him in place. The only down side is that I’m sure our LO will grow out of it well before the 12 month mark, but as I say, he’s a big baby in the 91st percentile. So if you have a more average baby then you’ll probably last up til 12 months.Oh and it only needs 2l of water so it’s much easier to fill and carry than a normal bath. It’s also a bit smaller so is a bit easier to store.

best baby purchase we made! Fantastic design. 9 months and still being used.
The best baby purchase we made. I thought I'd do a review after time had passed. I bought this 10 months ago waiting for my little boy to arrive. He has used it most days for nearly 9 months and we love it. Such a brilliant product on so many levels. The slanted back is great, easy to get baby in and a nice angle for him to sit - unlike the tummy tub which, from experience is a logistical nightmare. The little notch at the bottom is a brilliant design feature as it cradles baby, keeps him snuggly sat and he can swing his legs over for a much comfier seating position. No leaning over the bath killing your back having to hold baby up (apart from at new born stage) amd allows baby a much more independant, stress free bath time. My son has used it from a 7lb new born to a 20lb + 9 month old. He is extremely tall and only just starting to look a little scrunched up but hasn't given Me any sign that he's uncomfortable so we are sticking with it. Now he's older and splashing it's brilliant as I can just put it in the Empty main bath and he can splash away while I fold washing. I don't have to worry about him toppling over and hitting his head like I would in the main bath. It requires very little water so is good for your water bill and the planet. We are expecting another baby soon and she will be using it too. Fantastic buy, can't reccomemd it enough.

Perfectly good baby bath.
I don't usually review this kind of product but I thought I'd chip in as I'm slightly baffled by people saying it's not suitable for newborns or very small babies. We got this when ours was around six weeks and had no problems with it, and now use it daily as part of the bedtime routine. It has a support bump in the centre which stops the baby from slipping forward, and a max fill indicator, both of which means it's very safe to use. Ours is not quite three months and the water comes up to about the waist when sat in the bath. Even with small babies who can't hold their heads up very well, they're not going to dunk their heads in the water unless you fill it up well beyond the line.Perhaps for very tiny babies it wouldn't be suitable, but they grow very quickly so for the sake of a few weeks at most it hardly seems like a major problem to find some other workaround in the mean time.We sit on the floor with ours and although we usually do the bath time together, it's perfectly possible for one of us to do it by ourselves. Obviously you need to keep your eyes on the baby at all times, but this is true in any case whenever bathing a baby.

Excellent baby bath - sturdy, secure and economical for water usage
Should have purchased this sooner! We got it for our 6 month daughter (now 10 months) and she loves being able to sit up herself. As a parent I know she's comfortable and supported too by the back, sides and clever bump at the bottom to stop her slipping forward. Of course with any baby bath time you must constantly supervise the baby, but it's so much easier with the Shnuggle as you can generally free up both hands (when your baby is able to sit up unaided) for washing, playing etc - compared to a traditional baby bath tub, where you baby can slip about easily. The Shnuggle is a great compact size (could be easily used outside of the main family bath tub as you do not need to fill it with much water (or if you don't have a bath tub). Very economical use of water and filling it is really fast from a bath tap. It is very sturdy, non slip feet keep it in place. Would recommend, especially as the most is good value too.

The best thing you will buy for your baby!
I'll keep this short and simple - if you have a baby and want to bath them regularly stop reading the reviews and hit the buy button, it really is that simple. This is brilliantly designed and our baby adores bathing in it. It doesn't take up too much room and doesn't need loads of water. They are supported and comfortable - so much so that we use this 'dry' with a blanket around the house as our little one enjoys sitting up in it so much, and it is much more portable than his large rocker chair. He is so happy to be sat in it watching what you are doing it's great for all those times you just need somewhere safe and secure to prop them up for 5 minutes while you need your hands free, especially when they are too young to support their own head fully.I would recommend this bath to anybody - if you're looking to get someone who is pregnant a gift, get them this - they will love you for it!

Great baby bath
Brilliant bath for bathing our 5 month old - have used it since she was born, and bought a second one to use at my mum’s house. The back support makes such a difference and the fact it’s attached rather than an add on to the bath (ie. like the stokke one) is what sold it for us. She loves splashing in it and whilst I’m not sure it’ll last all the way until she’s 12 months old, it’s great for now.

For Older babies
Probably not the best for newborns as it’s a bit awkward trying to hold her up and wash her. But I know once she is able to hold her head up this will be perfect.
