I used this to power a cooktop outside in my bbq area. It worked perfectly. Its heavy so portability could be troublesome for some. I've used it every week so far. Build quality is excellent!

Having acquired some electronic devices from the UK from many years past, I had been looking for a step up transformer that I could just plug my old foreign devices straight into. So far, this step up transformer by Bestrans has worked great. I have an old Super 8 projector, a large guitar amp and an old battery charger to mention a few. Be aware that it is rated for up to 1200W so anything greater may not work well and could damage the unit although it states that it does feature protection circuits. The unit has multinational sockets on both front and back for connecting devices or cords. The sockets fit my old UK plugs as expected. One thing to consider with UK and some other countries electronics is that they may run on a 50hz power supply whereas in the US, it is delivered at 60Hz. Depending on what you're using, this may not make any difference at all but should be noted if your foreign equipment uses certain types of motors.The unit appears to be solidly built, features a slimline vented plastic case and weighs about 14-lbs. It also includes suction cups on the base for additional stability if placed on a smooth surface. The power cord is fixed and is around 5 feet long. There is also a master power switch conveniently placed on the top of the unit. Overall, although the unit is a little pricey at currently $86.99, it looks great and should provide years of reliable use. I will update should I have any issues but for now I'll give this 5 stars.

I'm an electrician by trade and it is hard to find these and when you do they are very pricey. It works great for the application I am using it on, but that is ONLY because I made sure that my new small appliance fell a good 20% under the advertised 1200 watt threshold advertised by this unit. Just remember, in most houses in the USA, your 120V outlet circuits are going to be wired in either 14 gauge wire which is good for about 15 amps or you may have #12 gauge wire that is good for 20 amps, so do go trying to use this on a 15 or 20 amp 120V circuit to run a darn 50 amp range or 30 amp dryer or something like that. But if you follow the directions and can read schematics and do the math, then this will do the job for you. Again, quality build and fast shippings.

Very nice quality toroidal autotransformer with inrush limiting protection. However, it is not an isolation transformer. Nice heavy unit about 15lbs
