Excellent Ink
I was looking for ink to use on a canvas tote bag that wouldn't wash off or ruin whatever it was washed with. I also wanted it to stand up to daily use. I bought this based on recommendations from other printmaking sites, and I'm so glad I did. The pigment was perfect and the ink was so smooth. It felt like regular printmaking ink. I waited the 2 weeks or so to cure it before washing it, and it didn't bleed, fade, or wash out. There was no transfer to other fabrics, and the print looked exactly like it did before washing it. I will say that I was feeling very impatient waiting for it to cure because I wanted to test it out in the washer before finishing the other totes. Now, I use this ink for any cloth I print on. I will definitely buy this again!

Great fabric ink!
This fabric ink is great! As a beginner block printer, I found it easy to use, easy to clean, and quick drying (only takes 2ish days). I still heat-seal before washing for the first time because I had a bit of fading on my first try. Washing the fabrics on cold, clothes inside out, and pressing them with an iron before the first wash has kept all of my prints looking good as new!

Move fast and open a window
Four stars for overall print quality. I knocked a star off because it stinks to high heaven and dries fast on the plate. Run 5 or so test prints on newsprint to build up a good layer of ink on your block before printing onto fabric. I printed on 100% cotton shirts and used a woodzilla-type press.

Great product but dries fast
This ink is great and incredibly opaque. Since itโs pretty much the only opaque white option for linocut on fabric Iโm not gonna give it too much of a hard time but I do wish it stayed wetter longer. It dries quite quickly and becomes difficult to use. I have had to get a toothbrush to clean it out of my Lino blocks because it gets caught in the tiny crevices and wonโt come off without a good brushing. I might be too used to using water based inks so take that into consideration when reading my review. It works best with 100% cotton or linen with no stretch element but gets the job done on stretch fabric with only a little greying. I almost exclusively print on black with white ink so I use this product constantly and my biggest complaint is the smell. If youโre used to oil painting it smells similar to oil paint which isnโt terrible but definitely leave your windows open when printing.

Good quality, but not completely opaque!
Hard to have a fully opaque white paint on top of a black shirt! The texture and consistency worked great but it definitely came out a little more grey than bright white. I wasn't sure what to expect to begin with but we followed the directions for dry time and care and the color stayed vibrant then.Would purchase again.

Great for textile printing
Speedball Fabric ink has good tack, covers a rubber or linoleum block well, and still manages to put down a nice clear print on fabric (I am printing linen, shantung silk, and cotton). It is reasonably priced, too. I have experimented with a number of other inks in the water-wash up variety, printing by hand or with Speedball's small hand press and this ink performs very well, permeates the fabric just enough and yet - very important - dries quickly! The clean up is a breeze with just soap and water and there are no fumes at all. It maintains its viscosity in the tube, and is so much easier to use than something like a screen printing ink on fabric. I generally use aqua wash etching inks on fabric and though colors are richer, there is the painfully long two weeks of drying time. Speedball inks dry in 48 - 72 hours. You will not have to do anything after printing to 'set' the color. Just wait a few days. I've washed it. The color hangs on just fine on fabric. The cons are: The color seems to fade as it dries on the fabric after printing, so be prepared for a slight color shift. The ink will come out looking exactly like the color square on the tube, but will dry lighter. Also, there are very few colors available. I hope they expand their palette of tubed ink. The ink dries pretty quickly on the plate once rolled out. As a result, you end up using quite a bit of ink per print session. You can get around some of this issue by changing how you print: either rolling ink into a foam pad which will keep it wet, or simply working faster.

Best ink for fabric stamping
This ink is nice and thick. You can clean up with water, but after drying and curing (takes a few days) it is washable. The colors are vibrant.

Excellent Ink, but with a Strong Odor
I used this ink in conjunction with the Speedball Premium Mounted Linoleum Block (4313). The ink was a bit thinner than I had expected, but I suspect that's more a matter of my inexperience, rather than a product defect. I was very satisfied with the prints I achieved. Even printing on fabric and with shallow features on the block, this ink maintained a very good level of detail. Moreover, I was able to pull over 25 prints from a 6"x7" image, and still have at least 3/4 of the bottle left. One caveat (and the reason this is four stars, not five): there is a very strong odor when using this product. I'm not sure if that's the case with all block printing inks, but the chemical smell was very strong. However, I did not get lightheaded (even though my workspace was poorly ventilated) and my roommate (who has strong chemical sensitivities) didn't experience any difficulties. The odor faded quickly, though it was still detectable 48 hours later (but not overpowering).Overall, I would recommend this product. Unless I come across a comparable option advertised as low odor, I will buy this same product again in the future.
