Good quality item
F.Y.I. for those out there like me DJing with Technics SL12**(or some of the copies e.g. Audio Technica etc.)decks and particularly if your actually playing real records as opposed to using them with serato/traktor TVC system and either want to or like me need to replace cartridge and stylus, in my case Stanton AL500 v3 cartridges with Stanton N500s stylus' both long out of production and only dubious copies of the stylus available, I'm pleased to say i've found an excellent solution that isn't silly money in a pair of Numark CS-1 concord style cart/stylus designed by Ortofon and made in Japan purchased along with a digital Turntable stylus weight scale only ÂŁ6.99 which is I can confirm is a fantastic way to be sure your tone arm is calibrated to correct weight for them(see pics) and can say they are sounding and performing superbly so far with initial tests I've done!

Ok accuracy but quite poorly made
I bought this to replace a much older model which had developed a faulty display. This one seems like a refinement of that older model’s design, but with noticeably poorer build quality. It seems accurate enough, but given that one corner is about 1mm higher than the other three, meaning it’s impossible to get it to sit flat without rocking, it’s rather hard to be certain how accurate it actually is. The load cell also sits at quite a high angle (on my older model it was level) which doesn’t inspire confidence either. I guess you get what you pay for.

Accurate, easy to use, cheap and brilliant!
I brought this to set-up my new AT VM540ML cart on a RB300 arm on a Rega P3. It comes with 3 button batteries but takes only 2 (why include 3?) and a 5g weight for calibration (which does weigh exactly 5g to two decimal places). I then hit the Tare (T) button to reset to zero. OK, on with the stylus check. I lowered the cart onto the scale and after a moment or two it stabilized and gave me the tracking force value. I then adjusted to what I required and Boom! All sorted. You may only use this once or twice a year but it does exactly what it's ment to do for a really cheap price. Brilliant!

Great little accessory
This is a great little accessory for checking the stylus downforce on your turntable. Zero the scales with the supplied weight, place it under your stylus tip on the turntable, adjust the arm weight until you get the correct downforce. Mine was pretty much spot on anyway, after following the set-up guide for the turntable, but it's nice to be re-assured that things are correct. 3 batteries supplied, which is good cos one of mine was dead, and a nice little case to keep your scales in. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Does the job
First impressions are that the plastic feels light and cheap, doesn't scream high quality. But testing with the 5g weight supplied shows that the scale is quite accurate, certainly accurate enough for setting the tracking force for your cartridge. Not the kind of thing i'll be using every day so i can't comment on the long term quality. Comes with 3 batteries, and it takes 2. Would recommend for under a tenner.

Even used by high end retailers
Bought this as I was advised that balancing the tone arm and then setting the tracking weight relying only on the scale is likely to provide variable and compromising results. I have used this on a Linn Ekos and a Rega RB250 tone arms and it aided accurate setting which I would have otherwise got wrong. Tried it on a BSR autochanger for a laugh and it just said 'FULL' which means there must be some tracking force going on there! Great value considering that we audiophiles are used to paying dearly for most bits and pieces like this!

Does the job
After 2 years stored during/after moving house my Rega P3 finally came out to play. I saw this device advertised and somewhat sceptically, based on the good reviews, I thought I'd give it a go.Weird instructions but I got the gist, along with the extra battery (?) and took my first read of cart pressure. Wow! I'd been playing (my first vinyl for a long time) under some treble the recommended stylus weight.Double-checked and triple-checked any way I could think of, this gadget passed all tests.Thoroughly recommend.

Does the job great
Really pleased I decided to get one of these, recently purchased a new turntable and the cartridge guide in the manufacturers manual said to Set tracking force at 2grams on the counterweight, which is exactly what I did.I then checked it using the scale, and it was out, by a good bit actually, 2.3grams. A slight adjustment to the counterweight got it bang on 2grams,The morel of this story?, never go with the manufacturer, my advice is to absolutely buy one of these scales to make sure your tracking for is spot on,Invaluable without a doubt 👍🏻
