Adaptil calming products have worked wonders for my greyhound
We are very big fans of Adaptil products and have used them for all of our dogs over the years. We purchased the collar in addition to other Adaptil products, including the spray. The Adaptil collar is a one-size-fits-all collar that lasts for a long time, offering great calming protection. We also keep the plugins going around times when fireworks and thunderstorms are likely. Our Greyhound was terrified of loud noises, and the Adaptil Plugin gives 30 days of relief and a great calming effect without creating a noticeable smell for humans. They are very easy to use as you just fit them into a conventional 3-pin plug and allow them to work until the unit needs a refill. They just look like an ordinary air freshener in the socket. We position ours near the dog's be,d which gives him maximum relief.

Seems to be working!
Held off on leaving this review for a few days, just to be sure it wasnt a case of beginners luck. We've definitely seen a difference. Our boisterous 12 month old male lab is defintely more relaxed and less reactive in the home in the last few days. Still has his moments, but theres certainly a corelation between wearing the Adaptil collar and a calming of behaviour. Quality is okay, it's basically a rubber collar which you trim to size you change every month. Will be ordering again for sure.

Not much difference for our anxious Beagle
To be honest l am not sure this collar has helped with my Beagles stress and anxiety. This is our second collar and will possibly try one more, but doubtful anything will improve.

Pointless in my opinion!
I have 4 dogs that are scared of fireworks, 1 Staffordshire Bull Terrier Female, 1 Whippet Female and 2 Whippet Males. My oldest Whippet boy, Reg, has never been a problem with it but has developed an absolute panic for the last 3 years running. It is so bad with him that last new years eve I thought he is having a heart attack as his heart was beating so fast and he was boiling hot, dribbling and panting like mad, when he is in this state there is no helping him, he wants to hide but also know what’s going on, he doesn’t want to cuddle, or god forbid he will not take any treats, not even the best of the best of treats. So needless to say, that I would do anything to make these dreadful events more pleasant for him (and the others) I’ve tried numerous things in the past from Bach drops to Vet prescribed calming medication and now this year I have tried Adaptil. I have so say, I started with the diffuser in September (working towards Bonfire Night), in addition Reg had also an Adaptil Collar and for the day I have bought some Adaptil Express tablets. So, this is my and Reg’s story: Bonfire Night went relatively smooth, however Reg was still very scared and in panic. Everyone had in addition to the diffuser also one of the tablets. Reg was the only one really worried. Now, leading up to New Year, we are in an unfortunate area where there are fireworks on and off and there is no way of predicting it, basically it can happen every evening at any time. And therefore it is too late to give the tablets as it needs to be 2 hours before the event. I am reluctant to give him pills for a whole month just on the chance, so he was ok-ish with the collar and the diffuser as long as there was only one bang or the noise was in the distance, my other scared babies were pretty much ok, still alert but no panic. New Years eve all my worry pots had a pill at 5PM (keeping in mind another can be given after 6 hours) so my plan was to give Reg another at 11PM to “keep him topped up”. Fireworks and Bangers started here just before 6pm, which completely messed everything up. Well it was useless, the staffie girl was ok after a few hours and appeared spaced out, so were the other Whippets, my Whippet girl actually slept until midnight despite some bangers and whistlers going on directly outside, but my Reg was out of his mind. So, I had to do another night shift trying to calm him down by keeping calm myself. The summary is: if your dog is just a tad worried the Adaptil will do something, if you have a total panic going on then Adaptil won’t help either. The best is to take them for the longest walk ever, make them as tired as possible, lots of positive experiences during the day of the fireworks and then hope for the best when it all starts. Save the money people, you are better off spending the money on some lovely treats for the day before and after!

Chilled all evening
My eldest collie barks at so much as a leaf blowing past the window on a normal day however, the reason we popped the collar on was fireworks. She will normally star at the wall, shaking until morning but tonight when the unexpected pops and fizzes came she stared at the wall for an hour then both dog’s cuddled and snoozed all evening. There was such a dramatic change I felt like they were drugged up si took the collar off. They remained chilled and sleepy . I look forward in testing a few times to check it’s not coincidental.
