A useful & easy to use tool to add extension speakers to your home audio/visual system
Because we are music lovers in our household, we have always enjoyed the ability to add extension speakers from our home audio/visual system to various rooms in our home. Extension speakers provide a very pleasant environment being able to go room-to-room in our house and have uninterrupted listening of our favorite tunes. As in our case, the extension speakers are mostly on at lower volume to provide background music. Serious listening is done in our living room with our main audio speakers. The Pyle speaker selector switch box works well for adding extension speakers. It is simple to use, has easy to understand instructions and safely sends the correct "load," (or in layman terms: power) to the speakers without overheating or taxing the amplifier within your audio/video system. The selector switch is a box you ideally set near your a/v system. Making a presumption you would know how to wire two stereo (left & right) speakers to your a/v system, it is easy to instead connect these wires to the Pyle speaker selector terminals and, in the case of this Pyle selector box which has up to 8 extension speakers capability, run wires to up to 8 speakers. I have used the Pyle speaker selector box to add extension speakers in my main listening room as well as to other rooms.Keep in mind that this is NOT a wireless system. You will need to run actual speaker wires to each extension speaker. This can be particularly troublesome if you don't have easy access to attic/basement or crawl space, otherwise, your speaker wire runs will be visible and potentially unsightly. I heartily recommend hiring an electrician or home theater specialist if you need to run wires from your a/v system behind walls, below floors or above ceilings. This is not a flaw of the selector box. A properly "hard-wired" extension speaker is far more desirable than wireless because it is not subject to any form of interference or drop out that might be related to internet broad band issues, for example. Not taking the space here to elaborate, you will also owe it to yourself to research an easy to understand tutorial on proper speaker cable wire. The insert holes on the selector box are large enough to accept only up to 14 gauge speaker wire. So you can use speaker wire gauge numbered 14, 16, 18, 20 and so on, but any size of larger wire such as 12 or 10 gauge will not fit in the holes. 12 gauge may be neccessary for long runs of speaker wire. The front of the box is black. The buttons are easy to push and of course, allows you the choice to run 1 pair of extension speakers, all of them or just some. The selector box does not require power. It uses the power of the amplifier within your home audio/visual system. The selector box, if cared for properly, should last a very long time as there is no real moving parts other than the push buttons and the clips that hold the speaker wires in the holes.I've used and still use Pyle products, particularly their loud speakers. Products have always been dependable at fair prices.

Easy setup and great performance
I was looking for a solid yet simple speaker selector switch to manage the ceiling speakers in my house. We have Sonos throughout but the bridges can get expensive. I named the bridge "Ceiling Speakers" and then connected it to the amplifier input on the Pyle switch. I used 7 of the 8 available zones on the switch, connecting speaker pair and labeling the corresponding button on the face. It was super easy and it works great! I can run multiple zones at once depending where I want to hear the music. I do not notice any appreciable loss of power when I'm running all the zones at the same time, which surprised me.Overall i am impressed with the quality and the performance of the switch. Best part of the purchase is the value for the money. It's nice to see quality products that don't cost a fortune...

Good 8-Channel Speaker Selector
The Pyle PSS8 8-channel speaker selector is well built and works nicely. Its metal case feels solid. The selector buttons give a solid click when depressed, confirming that they have been turned either on or off. I ordered the selector on Tuesday and received it the following Monday, so the free delivery also was very fast.I initally ordered a 6-channel speaker selector produced by another manufacturer. I returned that selector because I needed 2 more channels. Compared to the Pyle 8-channel selector, the build quality of the other manufacturer's 6-channel selector was poor as it had a lightweight plastic case and the selector buttons seemed cheap and flimsy. The Pyle selector definitely has a more solid feel to it, and its buttons feel more substantial and clicks easily into position. I would recommend the Pyle 8-channel speaker selector.

Works as promised
Pyle Home PSS8 8-Channel High Power Stereo Speaker Selector. The reason I am giving the product 4 stars is that we have just started to use it. This replaced a monster 6-Channel that got so hot that it kept shutting down my receiver. It runs 6 sets of speakers and I am sending audio to another 6 sets of speakers running through the other monster 6-Channel.Pro's:Runs coolwill take 14 gauge wireeasy setupCon'sWhen running in protection mode you do lose quality, but running a whole house system with 12 sets of speakers, it works fine.

Excellent Choice
This speaker selector is terrific! My wife and I bought our house 5 years ago and it had a 10 speaker ceiling system, which we could never figure out how to get working. After some help from friends we realized that we needed a speaker selector, which we thought we'd have to have custom made, to connect to our radio/tape/CD/ record player system. A friend mentioned that such selectors were already available. I researched and choose the Pyle PSS8, and it works great! (Although only for 8 of our speakers that's okay because one speaker doesn't work and the other is in the garage--don't spend much time there!) The selector is easy to install and my wife is VERY happy!

Pyle selector box is a good item
I had 2 Pyle selector boxes in a previous house and they worked without a hitch. I thought I needed an extra box at my new house and didn’t hesitate buying Pyle but discovered I really didn’t need another selector box so I returned it.
