Good piece of kit
I use this percussion pad to trigger samples via MIDI, which it does very well. I have also brought Piezo discs from amazon and using an existing kick pedal I have constructed my own bass drum pad which is plugged into the rear jack socket, which gives me Kick, Snare and three toms (once assigned), I am well pleased. The percussion samples are good but the standard kick, snare and toms are electronic sounding which is why I prefer to use it directly into the computers MIDI interface/sequencer so I can record into and playing back my own samples.

Good value drum pad
This is an excellent, good-value pad, with a reasonable range of percussion sounds that can be easily switched to each of the 4 pads. The only real limitation is the inability to load additional midi sounds onto the device. The pricier version has this feature.

Astonishingly Good Piece Of (Drum) Kit!
I have previously struggled to get a good drum sound for home recording but this has surpassed all expectations. This is easy to use and has a superb sound. I have recorded with full kits in pro' studios and got a worse sound than I got just by plugging this little device into an8 track porta-studio. And all for under £100! You will not regret buying this, whether for home recording in the absence of a drummer or in a live setting linked to the PA.

Great
I record my own songs and covers and needed something to add extra percussion with my drum machine. This was ideal for adding extra drums to my songs, there are no cymbals but I could put cymbals on with my drum machine so it didn't really matter.A pretty decent addition to my recording equipment and very inexpensive.Very happy with my purchase.

It's OK
I'm not a drummer so drummers may feel differently, and I know some have given it good reviews on the web having watched them. I wasn't very impressed with the built in sounds. They were OK but most of the samples are a bit short and the sound is a bit grainy compared to the 24bit sounds I'm used to working with. OK in a live situation I expect. No matter, I really purchased this to trigger drum sounds loaded onto a program on my PC over the MIDI connection. There's not much bounce from the rubber pads and the sensitivity isn't that great either so it misses a few hits which is annoying. There are around eight sensitivity levels and I tried them all. It seems up to Alesis' usual well constructed standard but it's a bit hit and miss for me, if you'll excuse the pun. The delivery was excellent though. I ordered it on a Thurday evening and I had it by Monday lunchtime, so full marks there, and the price wasn't unreasonable either. If you're a drummer, this will probably be a cheap and useful way to add some percussion sounds to your kit, which is what it's basically designed for, and you can't beat the price. However, for my purpose, of using it as a MIDI controller, it fell short of what I expected it to do.

Borderline useless.
Purchased for it's midi functionality, as a way of triggering sounds from other modules. This thing cannot play two pads at the same time. Repeat: this thing cannot play two pads simultaneously. If you hit two pads simultaneously, only one will play, the other will defeatedly stay mute. You can imagine how gratifying that is to play. So it doesn't work as a midi drum kit. And if you planning to buy it for the sounds alone - drop that thought, the sounds flat out stink, and there's no sound options at all, nor any way to load your own.It feels like a product someone designed on a lunch break, like a rough prototype that somehow went to market. It sucks.

Does the job as a MIdi controller.
If I am honest I am not a great fan of the built in sounds, but I use this to midi in and trigger my existing drum pad setup and add four extra pads; for this it was easy to setup and it keeps the pad assignments when switched off. It seems quite sturdy and does what I wanted it to . It is decently made, the pads play OK and I have used it without issue.

Great piece of kit!
This is excellent. The pads are responsive. It works great as a midi trigger. The onboard sounds are good (altho' there are only 26 sounds). It seems to be sturdy and well made. It is very easy to use. It's even good to just hit when switched off! For the money this is fantastic!

Buena relación calidad-precio
Algo escaso de sonidos pero compatible con módulos dtxpress Yamaha y perfecto como complemento para batería electrónica. Permite cambiar tonalidades estéreo y sensibilidad en cada sonido de lis cuatro pads.

Its fantastic for limited use in a studuo or jamming at a party.
It's a brilliant perc pad for studio personal jam or at a party. Battery option should have been provided.

Pretty Awesome
i got this specifically to use for bass drops and a few other samples during live shows. i just got this today and out of the box it is in excellent shape all the sounds and pads work. the power works and so far ive used the head phone jack and that has worked. i am intending to use a computer with this so that samples can be run through. it has 24 pre set sounds and all can be programmed to each pad in any variation you want. they do not have bass drops or any pre programmed sounds that can be used as such so most sounds you need will have to be supplied by a computer thats of course if you intend on using it the way i do. i am going to set it up and edit this review down shortly.
