Searching for a bike lock (for chain) I stumbled upon this one. I read all the reviews. Some hated it, some loved it. The haters said they received a used item (I did not) the seal on the box was intact. Anyone that buys on line or any place, the seal is evidence it's new. Some users said (keys didn't work) My keys work perfectly. Some users said " Lock broke and couldn't be opened " I am having no issues. I have to say, the negative comments are FRIGTENING to read. But, I took a chance and LOVE this lock! I also watched a video by " The Lock Pick Lawyer " and he couldn't pick it very fast. Said " It would take a very skilled locksmith or criminal to do it.The lock is this block of steel, I can see no way anyone can cut it. The bar is sturdy, and if you buy the right size for your links of your bike chain to fit inside, other than cutting the chain itself, there is ZERO space to cut the slider bar. I bought it for that purpose. I recommend whatever you are going to use to lock this with, measure it properly and then match those measurements to the 4 models.If you are looking for a lock to secure your bike, this is the one!

My storage container was burglarized and they took all new stuff with price tags and new stuff in original boxes. So likely drug addicts who sell the stuff for cash quickly. I had a cheap lock on it and it was in my backyard because I had a major house fire and the contractor put it there for my stuff that survived the fire. I had been buying replacement stuff and put some of it in the storage container. So the lock was picked. I know they came before the heist to scope it out because on my previous visit I noticed that my plastic stool was cracked. After the heist I realized that the scoundrels broke my plastic stool when reaching up to turn off my little motion detector light which was there for my convenience at night. So on the day I discovered the theft (after calling police) I went to Menards and bought a 4 lock Brinks set which was the best they sold. But I wanted something better for the lock box (that is welded on the storage container) so I bought this lock. It fits perfectly and is easy to put on. You turn it right to open 180 degrees which is half way around. The key will not come back out until you lock it by pushing the straight shackle up to close it. Then you turn the key 180 degrees which is half way back around to the left and pull the key out. I do not understand the review by Coffee Addict that says the lock is inconsistent at all and that particular review was making me afraid to buy this lock. I paid more attention to the truck drivers' review which was the next one down. So turn right to open and left to lock. I am looking at the lock the way you would be putting it on your storage container with the lock box. That would be with the shackle on your left vertically with where you put the key in at the bottom. Another interesting thing I noticed is that the key goes in either way unlike your typical door lock where you need to put it in with the key cuts downward. I will follow up on this review at a later date because I don't want to see anybody else get heisted like I was. And right now I have 3 of the 4 Brinks locks on the storage container too which claim to be commercial quality locks. So far I am very happy with this lock. I live in the Chicago area and will be using it through the winter so will report back if I have any frozen lock problems. I bought some WD-40 silicone spray to treat my locks with before winter.

I bought it to keep my bike safe and it worked great the first week, nevertheless 1 month after the lock does not close and I can't use it. As the return window ended 3 days ago I can't ask for a replacement.

I bought and returned several locks looking for the “perfect “ lock for a Pelican Air 1535 carry on. This is the lock you want for just about any Pelican cases. When you lock this, it is impossible for anyone to open the Pelican enough to get access to the inside. And no way it can be cut with bolt cutters. You would have to pick the lock, break the case open or use some sort of power tool to cut the lock. Making it easier to just steal the whole case, which usually can be traced, than trying to surreptitiously enter it.The locking mechanism operated flawlessly right out of the box. Since I’m using them (2) to secure a checked bag, I’m not concerned with weather issues.

I needed a lock for a low -to-medium risk application: Securing a fence gate. I checked out this lock by reading the review of it by WokeTube (AKA YouTube) fav The Lock Picking Lawyer.I just deployed the lock last night, and I am very impressed. This lock is sturdy, with a smooth mechanism. The way the gate and the lock are designed, it will take more time than average for an attacker to easily get a lock cutter that can get a solid "bite" of the thick shank. The key way appears to be resistant to bump key attacks, also a plus. Bonus: The lock comes with three keys. Nice touch, Magmaus!
