Why take any chance with your 12 or 13th gen processor? This is cheap and easy to install while providing insurance for the future.This contact frame fit perfectly. I am glad that issue was discovered and rectified but I could not convince myself to spend the amount of money wanted for the other frame.I did not try the thermal paste that was included. These chips can run hot, when gaming or other stresses, don’t leave it to a cheap unknown thermal paste. A great past can be found for 5-8 bucks. I used another paste I thought was decent but turns out at the 70 degree mark the thermal paste pump out happened right away. I then switched to running MX-6 and it seems to be working great.Oh yeah, the tool worked great and don’t use that thermal pad on the processor, it won’t end well. They really should just remove the pad from the kit.

Purchased this after replacing the heatsink/fan on my sons Intel i7-13700K and it still thermal throttling. Installed this, ran a benchmark for over 30 minutes trying to heat soak the heatsink and it didn't throttle at all. Oh, but I used Arctic MX-4 with it instead of the paste the comes in the kit because I don't know anything about the included paste and wanted to know I was using something decent.If you have a 12th or 13th gen intel processor that is thermal throttling, purchase one of these before replacing the heatsink/fan, it'll save you a bunch of money because you'll need one of these anyway.

This is the only frame that i've tested and so far i can say that everything went good, my only concern is that this did not redure my temps as i saw in some reviews, i'm like 2-3 degrees lower than before, so this itself won't solve any overheating issue, you may need to check your thermal paste, the preasure that you put to the CPU, the quality of your cooler and finally reduce any voltage/limit the power that the CPU consumes.

Great contact, easy install and the included thermal paste performed way better than i expected

I like the way this fits better as it securely locks in the CPU and applies even pressure around the CPU opposed to the manufacture bracket that applies pressure only on two sides. Great value for the money!
