As a DC product, it is great value. However, it ships with the #6 turnouts, not the #4. The difference is in the power routing. If you switch the route, the track not selected goes dead from one turnout to the other. Even with a DCC system this is Ok as you want the train staying on the siding while another passes it on the now powered main line.However, if you are using the turnout to lead to a different track, I’d recommend the #4 turnouts as they give you the option of keeping both tracks powered. To be honest, I don’t know why they sell #6 turnouts with this kit. Probably because it only works the way the sell it, as a siding. And for that it works fine.

Nice addition to my Kato N Scale layout. You need a fairly large or long layout to use as shown but I was able to use them as two approximately three feet long dead end sidings with bumpers on the ends. As I have an outside oval and an inside oval I had to install them on the inside oval. My layout table is small approximately three by six feet. Turnouts work very well and most of the supplied track piece are useful with the addition of a few pieces I had as extras from my layout. Overall a good Kato product as usual.

There is Bachman and Kato I have found with these N scale trains, both are very nice but I have to say the Kato seem to have more detail and are better made. I was very pleased with the train they are so detailed and sound like a tiny version of the real thing.

As with all Kato products, it worked perfectly with my existing Kato track. I strongly recommend Kato Unitrack to any beginnersgetting into the hobby; It basically eliminates the frustration one can experience with standard track, and is possibly the bestquality unit-track system offered anywhere. The increase in price over other systems is a small price to pay for the reliability andoverall value. Even if you only use a simple oval of track once a year, you can count on it working flawlessly the next time, andevery time after that.

These take up a lot of space on the layout over 4 foot end to end.. They work very well. smooth Kato quality. no problems easy to wire and setup. Fun to see it all up and running. I'm very pleased.

it came nicely out of the box and it works great on my layout you should get it for your n scale layouts.
