I was looking for a J2534 compatible cable to use with Toyota's Techstream diagnostic a programming software for my 05 Toyota Matrix. This cable worked flawlessly and at less than half the cost of the other available options.The software wasn't the easiest to find on there Website nor was getting it working properly straightforward, in fact I never was able to find it for the godiagshop main homepage. So I suggest you instead Google "GODIAG GD101", the first or second result should be to the godiagshop website listing for this item. You can either scroll half way down the page or do a Control+F Search for "Software Free" and you'll see the download link. Once downloaded, install the drivers, GoDiag's J1979 diagnostic software, and Techstream.Now, to get a valid key for your Techstream open up the J1979 Diagnostic software, at the top you'll see a button for "PIN", click that and make sure you have the TIS keygen tab selected. Next, make sure version 17 and region "other" are both selected, open up your Techstream (you'll need to make sure you select other as your region on your first startup) enter the asked for info, and when it gets to the popup asking for a key you'll want to copy your Software ID and enter that into the corresponding field back in the J1979 software. It will give you a key, enter that in TIS and bingo bango your software is valid for the next 3000 days.I've used the software to program a key, as well as chase down/diag a trans issue. If you own a Toyota this software/cable combo are invaluable.

Doesn't connect. Must disable antivirus to install driver!!! WFT? I only wish I hadn't waited so long to try to use it because now I can't return it.

its hard to believe this is a j2534 interface for the price i thought it a scam so i bought with that idea in mind when it arrived the next day due to prime shipping i thought well this is nice but does it work and believe me it does!!! now i use it with forscan and very happy with the speed of the live data have yet to try it with other software you cannot buy lunch for what i paid for the unit any decent j2534 interface is at least $1000.00

Works for what I got it for and that was to use with HDS. Only reason I didn’t give it five stars is that the nano driver software to download does get flagged for a Trojan virus not sure if it’s a false positive but from my understanding even the HDS software from Honda does get flagged as well not for a Trojan but you do have have to deactivate your antivirus and firewall in order to be able to install it and for it to work. I just used a burner laptop that is cheap and I don’t have anything important on it so I didn’t mind downloading the nano driver in order for the Godiag to work with HDS. However it did work with HDS and helped troubleshoot and fix a DTC.

Needed this to connect my laptop loaded with the Xentry OBD diagnostic program.This coupled with Xentry will allow you to diagnose and recode a lot of Mercedes electronic modules.I don’t know if this will work with other diagnostic programs but I’m believing it should.

I ran Toyota's Techstream with this dongle and it worked just fine. Just be careful when downloading files from godiag's website as I detected malware. For example when I downloaded Techstream archive, there was a drivers folder containing malware. Ignore that drivers folder as the only driver you need is Godiag J2534 Nano Device Driver from godiag.com tech support page. Just be cautious, have your virus scanner on and you'll be golden.

WARNING If you are buying this and plan to use on a General Motors vehicle, read on. It does not support pass-through functions on GM vehicles. Supposedly it is self-switching but does not work. Also will not work with GDS on GM cars. Support is non-existant. Spend a bit more and get the VXDIAG Nano. This is junk!!!
