Attractive bathroom light fitting
This is a typically German product - faultless in construction, attractive and easy to fit. Unusually, the price was also very fair!

Looks good when fitted
Like all light fittings if you’ve got an existing fitting you have to remove the whole thing to fit this as it sits flush to the ceiling and has no where for the original face plate to sit hence why you have to remove everything; I’m no electrician but managed to do this as had to go into the loft and pull all the existing wiring through and do the set up in the loft.I’m not blaming this company for the above comment as it seems that all ceiling lights are the same and it’s about time someone came up with a satisfactory fitting to take into account of the original electrical plate to help combat this issue.. mmm dragons den moment!??Once sorted the above out it fitted great albeit and maybe I missed this but the actual silver outer does not sit flush to the ceiling as it sits about 38mm - 48mm away from the main fixing plate but overall it allows the light to come from the edges as well as the main area; make sure you buy a bulb with this as they do not supply one.

Read this before you choose.
The 'base' (top bit) has to fit flush with the ceiling, so if replacing a 'Rose' or lamp with a hollow base (were wires can be hidden) you will be faced with 'hiding' a 'collection' of wires! In fact three 'pairs' of wire. An incoming supplying Power. (a red or brown covered) Positive, a (black or blue covered) Neutral, and a (green and yellow covered) Earth. One of the other wires goes to the switch, and the third wire returns. -(NOTE the Earth wire in standard household wiring is bare ((copper coloured)) and may have had a loose 'sleeve' of yellow/green over it to insulate/identify it) In addition there will be wires connected to the 'old' lamp, a LIVE wire, a Neutral, and if the lamp you are removing had metal parts a (yellow and green) Earth wire. ( A ceiling 'rose' generally has lines of connecting blocks to sort the wires out, but when I removed the old lamp I found a 'frightening' amount of wires, terminating in two connecting blocks, and a live ,neutral and earth wire ((I could make use of)) connected to the old lamp.)I turned off the lighting circuit on the 'Consumer unit' (all the power if you have the Old type of fuze box) check a nearby light does not come on.I Judged the 'old' lamp wires would be long enough to connect to the new lamp and removed (snipped) them from the lamp end. Being non metallic there is no provision for attaching an earth wire to the new lamp so you can remove the earth wire from the (ceilng) block.I checked all the screws in the connecting blocks were tight and wrapped insulating tape around them. Then the 'fun' bit. I had to enlarge the hole in the ceiling (with a Stanley knife) then poke the blocks through leaving the lamp wires dangling down. (You can poke them through the circular 'bung' at his stage but don't locate/attach to lamp base at this time.)Attach the lamp 'base' to the ceiling aligning lamp holder/connector over the hole and after poking the bung/connecting wires through to the lamp base, secure to the ceiling.I put two wood screws into a convenient roof beam and secured the 'other side' of the base with a plastic 'hollow wall fitting/plug' that you have to drill a hole for.Cut and 'bare' the two wires to length, cover each with the heatproof sleeve/s provided and push into either side of connector block. (I used long nose pliers to push wire fully in/home.I then fitted the bulb and assembled the 'shade', turned on the electricity and it worked! (A word on the Bulb! instructions say max of 40 Watts but AMAZON'S "sold with it" is a 'New type' LED bulb that runs cooler so one can ignore the 40W max warning and fit a 8W (equal to a) (60) or in my case a 10 W (60)WARNING I am not a 'qualified' electrician' but a do it yourself'er who had a go.(don't sue me if you mess it up)Good luck!I did not find fitting this lamp 'easy' and had to 'scratch my head' a few times, but I consider it worth the effort.

Surprisingly good light for the price
Took a minute to work out how to install the Chrome ring but I was pleasantly surprised at just how good this light fitting was.Usually you haver to choose Cheap or Good but this was both

Poorly made, smashed easily, dangerous!
I purchased 3 of these lights in May and 4 months later I heard an almighty smash from the family bathroom. The light had fallen from the ceiling and smashed on the floor into pieces, whilst my 8 year old daughter was in the bath, luckily she was not hurt.On inspection it was clear that the silver PLASTIC surround had split and the glass just fell out!I emailed the company immediately with the photos, explaining that I was removing the other two lights for fear they do the same. I heard nothing, yet 2 days later I received a new one! I was shocked as I had made it clear that I did not want a replacement but a refund. The company replied stating that I didn't need to send the faulty item back (which I couldn't anyway as it was in a million pieces!!!) and they couldn't do me a refund but offered me an Amazon voucher. I responded accepting that but have had no response from them since then. I have emailed several times since to be completely ignored.Appalling customer service and unsafe product.

Needed additional fittings
Strange push fit connections to bulb holder, needed to buy an additional connector and add some more wire. the housing needed to be manipulated to allow for fitting. happy with the light level once fitted but took half a day to fit considering making a trip out to buy the required parts. probably should have read the reviews before ordering, and would have been better going to B&Q, I've fitted loads of other lights and never had these issues. Seller dispatched quickly and was adequately packaged.

Type of fitting being replaced
Beware if you are buying type of lamp to replace an existing ceiling lamp. It does not include space for other cables, as some fluourescent fittings do. Mine contained a total of 13 wires (live, neutral and earth in and out, switched live, cable to extractor fan etc). Dealing with this problem can take some time. The lamp is attractive enough, but I hope that the LED bulb that I put in it will last longer than I do, because fitting the cover is tricky, with the danger of dropping and breaking it.

light it up
looks very expensive but is at a great price, would be better if the bulb was supplied with the fitting. Easy to install and looks great when on ceiling
