Sort Your Head Out: Mental Health Without All the Bollocks

Nothing like this out there - buy it
I’ve followed Sam’s work a while now and know how funny he can be and his knack for telling a great story, but it’s in his brutal honesty and self reflection that this book excels. So many of the things he describes going on his head are so relatable and make you feel like you’re really not alone in all of it.Yes this is aimed at blokes and I’m a man in early 30’s, but really feel a lot of the content applies to anyone that’s semi-interested in the topic of mental health. You’ll realise just how much is going on that you dismissed or downplayed before, that with a little attention could really improve how much you enjoy your life.

Hilarious and helpful all at once
Sam Delaney is a fantastic storyteller and always writes with humour and honesty. This book is first and foremost really funny and engaging but also gets across the point that anyone can suffer mental health issues - and you don't need to be in sleeping on a park bench or robbing a corner shop to be at a point that you need to do something about it. It's an attempt to talk to the man on the street in a no-nonsense way - whether you think you might need some help or not, it's well worth a read.

This is Stella!
You don’t need to read a self-book as such to feel better. You need relatable anecdotes of wit and wisdom. At least as a 40something yr old fella who’s had a few issues but tries to carry on, I don’t feel a need to be lectured; more like I can listen to the tales of a peer.Well done Sam… this is bloody brilliant and will be a go-to for years to come

Mental Health in a way we can relate to
This is a really important book - Sam’s a brilliant storyteller and what a story he has to tell. As more of us struggle with mental health issues it’s so refreshing to have them laid out in such a candid way - well done Sam, brilliant. And this is a proper book - think that one star reviewer fell for a fake listing.

Funny and real
I've listened to Sam on his podcasts for a few years and have really benefitted from his opening up about his mental health on there. This book is a great read with his collection of great anecdotes and experiences as well as realistic thoughts in navigating mental health in amongst the world. It's been a great read & listen.

Who is scamming our fish cake????
Fabulous read from one of the funniest people on the planet. His podcast with Andy Dawson, Top Flight Time Machine, has kept my mental health in check for the last 5 years & this book is a welcome addition to Sam’s brilliant work. Honest, laugh out loud funny. I’ve read the book & now I’ll listen to the audiobook for Sam’s unique take on his life. Highly recommended 👍
