Great value for the money!
This flash has everything the Canon brand flashes have except an automatic zoom. But it delivers a great number of flashes per set of batteries.

Nice, basic flash.
This Neewer NW635II-C flash for Canon is a nice, basic flash with a few bells and whistles. I tend to use speedlite flash more as a soft fill for portraits or to bounce when photographing events. This can do most of what I need almost as well as my Canon speedlites - the exception being high speed sync. The TTL works well and the optical slave mode gives it flexibility to use indoors with my 580 EXII as a main and trigger. I doubt I'd use the PC sync but it's an interesting option, "just in case."The instructions were clear, the functions pretty easy to adjust. This won't replace my Canon speedlites but it's a great addition and one I'd use on it's own on a backup camera.

This is a great option for beginners
I do like this flash. Im still new with flash photography but this has been easy to use and its functionality is great. The build quality ok. It is just plastic, but it feels good in the hand. Everything is perfectly functional. All the attachments are great. It came with the reflector for a catch light in the eye. the diffuser for the times you need direct light, due to no walls to bounce the flash of this diffuser works ok. and the cold shoe stand that is comes with is great if you use multiple flashes. This flash is operated by AA battery's so the battery life isn't to great it will do what it needs to but just keep some extra battery's on you to make sure you don't run out of battery in the middle of a shoot. this is the only negative part of this flash. This flash can be used as a slave flash. and it is not needed to have a "branded" master flash. I have a Godex flash that can be on my camera and the Newer flash with work with it as a secondary flash. I cant do it the other way because Godex, can only be fired by another Godex, or using proprietary equipment. So this newer flash is actually easier to use and easy to understand then some competitors. The head of the flash and turn about 100 degrees front to back and can turn 270 degrees side to side. This flash has great ability to turn whatever angle you might need. I never was not able to get the bounce angle that I need. This comes with all you need and is a great first flash with the TTL works ok. Im still new with flashes so I personally like the manual control of the flash because I try some weird things that confuse the TTL in the flash but for the price this is an awesome feature to have.I recommended this flash. to anyone. if your a pro and want something cheap that if it breaks then its not to much money gone, and has all the features that you need then this is great. Or if this is your first flash the instructions are easy to follow and easy to learn.

Impressive
note: I'm just a guy with a camera, not a photographerThis is, for my purposes, a very nice flash which I'm told is nearly as good as the Canon Speedlight meant for my 600d with the exception of a couple of higher shutter speeds.I'm getting quite a bit better fill results with this flash and the included diffuser than with the popup on the camera.I actually like that this flash takes disposable batteries as I have way too many things to plug in already when travelling with equipment.

Works
It works, but doesn’t work as quickly as I needed it to. And works better on one of my cameras vs the other. I will keep it, but wasn’t impressed with it.

Good Value
The media could not be loaded. This flash is very similar to my Canon 580 EX II, and it has most of the features of the Canon with the exception of high-speed sync, which means that it won't sync with shutter speeds higher than 200.It has TTL metering, which allows you to control exposure compensation directly from the camera. The Canon flash has E-TTL, which has a few more functions. In tests I found the flash to be slightly more powerful at full-strength than the Canon flash, producing about 1 stop more light. The manual is very basic--you need to understand flash use already or find instruction elsewhere.

A good Basic Flash
The media could not be loaded. This is a basic flash ideal for use in TTL or auto. More faster flashes support something called HSS or high sync. This ones does not but for most applications TTL will be perfectly fine.My disappointment is that they went the cheap route of 4x AA batteries rather than provide a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack.Other than that, works as intended with my Canon cameras.
