Outstanding Dac/Amp
This is a great amp/dac with the new Ess chip. I was using the ifi Zen Dac V1 ok yes it's got the Burr Brown chip but it also lacks power for my liking and don't like the no power on and off. I did try the power lead for £50 overpriced in my opinion as it made no difference in my opinion. So decided to check out the Fiio K5 Pro. Seen some great reviews of the new updated version thanks to the lack of original chips and love it. I use it with my gaming laptop and use mainly my AKG K712 Pro's with it but also my less demanding Status Audio CB1's. Both sound fantastic with this amp. I fell in love with it and highly recommend it. it's not too big so works will on my smaller dining table as some dac/amps can be on the bigger side. This has loads of power and great for music and gaming. Tried it with Tidal both with my Zen dac plugged in using it as just a amp and then as a dac. And with Spotify premium and Amazon Music, all sounded fantastic.

An incredibly powerful, compact and versatile DAC for a decent price
Unlocks your headphones' true potential and can easily power most open-back headphones without any issue.I have mine specifically hooked up to my amplifier, which I use in conjunction with my PC. The plethora of connectivity options means I have my PC hooked up to the DAC using SPDIF to cut out all forms of electrical interference. The DAC is then connected to my amp using RCA; if I need to use my headphones then I simply plug them directly into the DAC; this setup works incredibly well and I now have absolutely no background noise :)The USB connection also works super well however; since my PC generates so much electrical noise, then this setup isn't feasible for me. This isn't the case on all PCs; my laptop and work PC do not have too much crosstalk when connected to an electrically conductive connection such as USB or RCA, so this will work for people who aren't sensitive to interference in their listening experience. If you have a super electrically noisy PC such as mine; using SPDIF is a must and to be honest the sound quality is the exact same as the USB connection, so you're not losing anything other than that pesky electrical noise.Overall I highly recommend the Fiio K5 Pro; it's an incredibly well-made DAC with many connectivity options which make it as versatile as it is powerful and clean sounding.

Good, but the headphone jack broke after a few months ....
Overall this is a very decent DAC/AMP. We mainly used it as an amp with RCA in (from an M1 MacBook Air headphone jack) to power the beyerdynamic DT1990pro. My wife was quite happy with this combination and it gets loud and clear enough.UNTIL it only output sound to the left channel ... (-1 star). Within the warranty the seller offered to repair/replace - but this shouldn't have happend!I reduce another star for all that it is missing: balanced connections, more than one headphone out, and line out is controlled by the volume knob ... (and maybe too little power for very power hungry headphones)Apart from that it is a great device:- fantastic sound- good input connections (line, usb, coaxial, optical) (apart from balanced)- feel and finish is exceptional- volume knob is very smooth, although to turn it off the volume know has to be turned all the way to the left, a dedicated switch would have been better- the RGB illumination looks nice, but can't be controlled directly from the device (like turn it off completely or change the colours)So overall: When it works and you are fine with its quirks, it's good

Bloody Outstanding
I am using these with my Dad's Senheisser 650HD's - This is the BEST £150 I have ever spent.

A great all-rounder
There are better DACS and Headhone Amps out there, and the audioscience review suggests that the audio-out is the [relative] weakness. But that for me is exactly the selling point: there is no real competitor that can take audio or optical in (in my case from my old but good Arcam Mini CD/DAB player) and act as a pre-amp for active speakers as well as being a very good DAC/headphone amp.For those who have had problems with noisy USB feeds from a computer, I would recommend a USB Isolator - available for £10-15 - helped a lot with my Adam T5V active speakers.

The best my desktop has ever sounded
I have one of these paired with some Sony MDR-7506s which I was previously using to listen to music plugged into the rear phono jack. It's a dramatic improvement - zero background noise, and it's like there's an extra layer of detail in everything. The actual device is well-made and looks good on the desk. In Windows 11 it's just a settings change to have it outputting 384Khz. The manual wants you to download windows drivers but it's not necessary on a modern system. Ubuntu needed a config file edit but it's definitely possible and works fine. Lovely!

Brilliant amp, runs my DT990 pros no problem at all
Got a lot of options for input and runs my 250 ohm 990s easy as you like.

Would personally have liked a R/L balance knob to adjust volume by ear.
Good quality output I use this with a Mac and once you figure out the midi audio kHz settings, you’re in business. Plenty of drive for my beyerdynamic amiron 250 ohm headphones.
