Ambient Weather WS-1965 WiFi Weather Station w/Remote Monitoring and Ambient Weather Network Access

Ever since I was a kid, I have wanted my OWN weather station at my home. It only took me 68 years to get the job done... I had looked at both very expensive and "cheap" weather station offerings, before settling on this setup from Ambient Weather. Setup was relatively easy, with the exception of calibrating the barometric pressure (a call to their tech support helped resolved my confusion with the written instructions, however). I later added a lightning detector, which added to the system seamlessly. If there was any "cons" to report with my setup, it would be that I am disappointed that my station only updates with Weather Underground once per minute, while most other local stations listed there are updating within seconds. This seems to be more of an issue with the Ambient platform that my station reports to, rather than the station itself. Ambient offers it's own app and online services to retrieve my live data, but it is not as impressive a presentation as what Weather Underground offers (plus, Ambient wants you to "subscribe" for upgraded features - somewhat of a turn-off in my book. Still, WU offers all I really need). Overall, if you're looking for a reasonably-priced weather station that is accurate, this would be your pick.

Purchased for my daughter. Like one I have had for several years. She set it up with no issues in an hour or so. We now share weather notes across the city. Moisture meter for her garden as well. This summer we will see. So far very pleased

I've had this for about 2 weeks and love it and so far no problems.I like their layout and look on their website and IOS App showing my device and telemetry as well as being able to see others around me with weather stations that are reporting and their telemetry. The ability to also link to Weather Underground is nice.Setup was super easy and only took mins. I mounted it on a 1 1/4 PVC pipeThe only downside so far was the size of the display but I have since gotten over that and am happy as-is. They offer an addon larger display but it is a little steep.

Coming from a 3yr old acurite that quit broadcasting, it seems to work good. Display is smaller then I'm used to but clear. Setup to WiFi and weather underground was the same as previous model. Have to really follow instructions. Time will tell how it holds up.

We have am eighteen year old Davis Pro Advantage this still going, a Davis Vantage Vue and now the Ambient 1965. Comparing stations, the Vantage Vue has more data manipulation and is accurate but the display isn't great except close up. The 1965 has a robust display that you can see from a distance, easily.The station is accurate and we love the fact that we can see other stations in our hilly area to compare readings. The APP on the web and iPhone are great! We can also look at other stations in other states. Being able to calibrate the system on your LAN is awesome! The Davis has Weather Link to report to the web, but is expensive. The array is well built and easy to install. The only plus for this system would be to make it solar powered to accompany battery power like the Davis'. Highly recommend Ambient.

it was hard to set up, directions were poor, the screen is small and it's hard to connect to the internet for me and so the date was able to be dialed in as was the time, and the five switches on the back side weren't marked so you'd have to look at the manual to see which one did which. I'm gonna skip this product not recommended perhaps the upgraded newer product might be better it might be worth a try

I'm completely happy with this weather station. I've always wanted something like this, and now that we live out in the middle of nowhere, I wanted something that can tell me the conditions where I am, not the nearest town 10 miles away. Directions on connecting and setting up were detailed and easy to follow. It did take some time and effort to correctly mount it, but once done there haven't been any issues. The readings have been consistent with official forecasts in the area, so I believe the results I am getting. We finally had a chance to test out the rain gauge with TS Francine, and it was very cool getting real time readings of rain totals and what the rain rate is RIGHT NOW. Some customer mentioned that the display was not up to par, and I don't agree at all, it shows everything I care about. And the app for my phone gives me even more detail.I was not solicited nor paid for this review.

The home weather station WS-1965 looks nice and the setup was easy. However, the unit is not very accurate at all. The temperature is close but the wind speed is no where close to the actual speed. Contacted the company twice with no response either time. I realize this is not an expensive weather station but it should work better than it does.
