Good for practice with phonemes
This set allows pre-k, kinder or older kids to practice phonemes (sounds and not letters themselves). I am not a pre-k/early elementary teacher so there are a few confusing things about this, which are not the fault of this activity, just learning phonemes. They are not the letters themselves. If they only use the pictures, it works fine, but once they are connecting it to the written word there is confusion between the spelling and the sound. My 4 year old learned the sound that each letter makes and learned to identify that by looking at the letter itself. As kids begin to read, this gets confusing when you get to words like giraffe which get sorted under the /j/ tile. The challenging thing for a child using this set is that there are SO MANY cards. It is difficult to keep them organized so you don’t have to go through a hundred tiles to sort into only 6 trays. I try to pull out only the ones that I want my child to practice. My 4 year old has a great time practicing with this set!

Great learning tool
This is a great tool to practice letter sounds, as well as vocabulary. As a homeschooling mom of three kids, it's nice to practice the letters and sounds on different levels with different kids. My 4 year old is working on letters sounds by themselves. My 5 year old is working on letter sounds, vowel sounds and magic (silent) e. My 7 year old is working on everything else. She is a little advanced but it helps build vocabulary for her. I love that I can use it with all three. The trays snap together easily and the cards lay on the tray once sorted. The cards are double sided. One side has the word spelled out and the other side has boxes. I am not a huge fan of the way the box was organized so I redid it in a way that's easily accessible for me. Just me being picky, though. Overall it's an amazing learning tool

Great activity set for early readers
This is an activity set to support early learning. It could be used in a classroom or at home.It has six plastic trays and a bunch of cards. For each of the included 44 phonemes, there are 5 domed cards with words containing that phoneme (with several spellings when appropriate, example phone appears under /f/), one square card to slot into the top, and one divider to keep them organized. The idea is to challenge kids to sort the sounds with a variety of activities described in the included booklet. So far I have been using it on sounds/letters I see my kids struggling with, like b and d.My kids are 5 and this set is meeting them exactly at their level.
