This solar powered bird bath is excellent!!

I bought this fountain to replace one that I had purchased from another store. That one was fiberglass and soon after using it the paint began to chip so that after a little over a year there was little paint left on it. This one by Solar Smart appears to be much better made. It is darker than I thought it would be but I assume it will tone down after a little while in the Arizona sun. But that is neither here nor there, the quality of this fountain compared to our first one is far superior. I expect to have this one for a long time from the way it feels and looks. The very first moment we put it outside the fountain started working right away. You can use attachments to change the type of water output; from a high shooting stream, to a low burble and also a sprinkle type. We chose to use the low burbling attachment since we have a problem with winds and low humidity here. Over all we are extremely pleased and wish we had bought this one the first time. We had also purchased a diferent style of Solar Smart fountain for my parents and they have been enjoying theirs for over a year now.There was only one issue with the product that we had to contact the company about. The fountain came with a large crack in the base. Rather than sending it back to Amazon, I decided to contact the company first. They promptly sent us a new base, no questions asked. I have a feeling someone had sent this fountain back to Amazon because of the crack before. The booklet and pump were packaged in a Ziplock bag, not exactly standard new product packaging. So a slight thumbs down to Amazon for not checking returned products before reselling them. But a huge thumbs up for Solar Smart for being a great company to deal with and making such a nice product.

This fountain is a perfect size for my deck....works really well...but it came with a crack in the bottom bowl ...I contacted the company they said they were sorry but I needed to contact Amazon...so I did ...they wanted me to repack it and send it back ...well my husband had already cut up the boxes and Styrofoam so I had no way to send it back . Lesson learned ..I just wanted the bottom bowl ..with all that said it is a nice fountain but a 4 star for the Crack...my hummingbirds do not mind the crack, it doesnt leak... now I need to decorate around it ...I do recommend this fountain for small spaces ..just don't get rid of the Packaging until you get it set up completely.

The media could not be loaded. I live in Memphis, TN, where there are many days of sun. I have the fountain positioned in an area, that gets about 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. The fountain only runs during that time.That is ok with me, because I got it as a bird bath and I wanted enough circulation of the water to not get mosquitos.Other features… very light weight. Easy to take apart and move. As with all fountains it is hard to get it exactly level, if it is sitting in dirt. I tried best to level the dirt and then I put a large paver on the dirt, then the fountain on top of that.I wish the solar panel held power from the sun and would last until the next day’s sun, but it does not.So just know this will only run in direct sun.

I will not recommend this product to anybody because of the following reasons:1. I believe that this product is overpriced compared to the non-solar powered fountains available in most hardware or garden stores - this fountain is very light, unstable and not robust at all for outdoor use.2. The solar pump is totally under powered that gives only a trickle of water - not much of a fountain.3. Poorly constructed.4. The solar pump should have back-up power or should be charging a battery to have more continuous operation.5. I should have bought a garden fountain from a hardware or garden store with electric powered motor as a much lower price and then buy a solar-powered pump with charging capability - the net result will be a more robust construction and with better functioning pump.6. I wish I can return this back to the vendor and do item 4 above.Rey Elizondo

Love this fountain and so do my birds. Had the other one almost 7 years and finally the material it is made of started to deteriorate probably because we have the worst hard water known to man. I'm happy it lasted 7 years and the pump/motor was still working strong. I repurposed the first one into a succulent fountain garden (saving the pump part just in case) so now have both just using them different ways.The solar on demand part works just as it is supposed to storing up power for cloudy days or to use in the evening when the sun has gone down. If this one lasts 7 years I'll probably get another one as it's great in an area with no electricity.

I bought this as a birthday gift for my friend. Assembled, filled with water and let it charge for 3 days as recommended before turning on. PUMP DOESN’T WORK. I tried 3 different times to ensure everything was properly plugged in. Very very disappointed, as was my friend. I contacted the company requesting a replacement pump, with no response. The thing is, I bought this very same fountain for myself a couple of years ago. Pump stopped working about a year ago. Thought maybe it was a fluke.

I love the looks of this. It actually worked right out of the box, I just had to readjust the seal a bit. Very easy to put together and light enough out of the box for me to carry to the back yard. My only issue is the amount of Styrofoam that had to be used to cushion it, made a big mess, but I don't know if there's any other way to protect it during shipping and nothing like it was available locally. I hope it holds up over time, little wary but I like it, It's what I wanted for my back yard. Update: Even on sunny days it's not staying on as long as it was at first, I get only about 2-3 hours when I was getting 4-5 at first.. I've had it out less than a month and clean it regularly. It hasn't really gotten warm out yet though there hasn't been much rain. Birds love it tho.
