Nice bright light at a good price
I had an old, incandescent bicycle light that was burning through batteries like they were free, so I started looking for a replacement. For anyone who has done this type of search, you will know that there is a plethora of options out there and that every single one of them claims to be the brightest, the easiest to install or the best value for the money. Then you read the reviews, and you just become more confused by all of the contradictory information...In the end, I chose to go with this light by Divine LEDs because I felt that, on balance, the claims by the manufacturer were not overly outrageous and the reviews were generally positive but with a decent dose of reality thrown in.The most suspect claim about this light in my opinion is the "Brightest Bike Light on Amazon". I did not see an actual lumen figure anywhere for this light, so you have to take the manufacturer's word for it. However, a lot of other companies claimed such high lumen values that I found them suspicious to begin with. In the end, this light is pretty bright and puts out enough light for my purposes, which is what matters for me. I mostly ride in neighborhoods with some street lights, and being seen is almost more important than seeing; for that purpose, this light is great. The light is incredibly easy to install as the manufacturer claims. The clamp with the two different sizes of rubber shims fit my handlebar perfectly without any rigging or modifications. The thumbscrew was also a nice feature. That said, I have two minor complaints that prevent me from giving a five-star rating. The first issue I have is that the mounting hardware is plastic, which feels a little bit flimsy. I would recommend not overtightening the screws, as they feel like they would snap easily. For a device claiming to be build from military grade materials, I would have expected something a little more robust. The second issue I have is the clear, red plastic ring on the front of the light, which illuminates when the light is on. This is a little bit of a distraction in the dark as it draws the eye away from the road. However, another reviewer suggested covering this part with some black electrical tape. This seems like an easy fix, which I will most likely try.In general, I am quite happy with this purchase, although I've only had the light for a couple of weeks. Assuming nothing changes, I would recommend this light to others.

So I was in the market for a better, safer light and I bought this light after ...
Phenomenal light and company! This light is a VERY bright light for an AAA battery operated light .If you want anything more you will have to shell out 2-3X more and have to haul around an external battery pack or use one of the rechargable ones (I would rather throw a couple of AAA packs of batteries in my bike pack). You see I am an Emergency Room Physician w/+20 years in and have seen my share of bikers struck and I did not want to become a statistic. So I purchased 2 Planet Bike rear lights and mounted them in the front and the back and have them on at all times. I had been using one of those Walmart Schwinn front lights , but what a joke it was and it was absolutely terrifying riding @ dusk / night with that light this past summer. So I was in the market for a better, safer light and I bought this light after reading all of the reviews. I have had the light for 2 weeks now and I actually got "pulled over" my a county police officer inquiring about my light because it was so bright. Apparently the county's supplied light to their bike officers are not very good. In another instance my son was riding w/ my wife on the way to church and he told me that this light was brighter than any car or motorcycle light that passed by . There are 2 achilles heels to this light . One is a "necessary evil" which is the orange illumination ring and the other are the hold down screws for the bracket. The entire light body is made of machined aluminum except the lens and illumination ring which are plastic. The ring is necessary because it illuminates your sides and adds to your safety. When I first got the light , I mounted on my bike handle using the supplied hardware. When I tightened the hold down screws , I tighten them firmly, but not too tight as several reviewers have stated it is very easy to "strip out" these screws. On one of my recent rides I was going down a particular rough part of the trail when I suddenly lost the light . What I recovered was the metal casing, but the lens and illumination ring were gone. When I returned home I also discovered that the hold down screw for the light barrel was missing. I Emailed Mr Grey , the CEO and told him the situation, expecting I would have to pay for the replacement parts, but instead he 2-day shipped a brand new light to me. In this day and age when companies could care less about it's customers this was quite impressive. Several reviewers have stated they felt this light was over priced. Remember you pay for what you get and a product is as ONLY good as the company that stands behind it. Try getting that kind of care and dedication out of a company that charges $8-15 for their light. 5 out of 5 stars EASY.FOLLOW UP: I found a fix for the bracket/ screws. I cut two small 3/4 in x 1 in strips of those serrated shelf liners and placed them in between the handle bar AND the light barrel and the bracket to give the bracket screws a bit of "give" and "bite". I also placed "Lock Tight" on the bracket screws.
