EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE ONE OF THESE
My washer broke, so I decided to get a new one. That's when the problems started. I couldn't get the water turned off at the washer. I couldn't get the city and the delivery people scheduled at the same time. Finally, someone told me about this thing. AMAZON Prime got one to me in two days. It works perfectly. I'm an 81 year old lady and even I could use it. So, I say again, everyone needs one of these; you never know when you will need it.

Solid Sturdy Tool
This seems like a solid sturdy tool that will be able to turn off my water at the street in an emergency or if I just need to turn it off in order to do some plumbing. Where I live in Fort Worth Texas the houses weren't built with good water shut-off valves so everyone uses the city shut-off valve at the street.

Much smaller than it looks in the picture. Read size carefully.
I wish I could write a better review but I did not get to use this item. Read the size of this tool carefully! It's very small. We thought it the size to turn off the water main.

Works well to turn on/off water; take note of length (17-inch)
This Water Meter Key is strong, sturdy.I went to our concrete water meter box and pulled the cover off.Then, I held the water meter key and pointed the notched end down toward the water valve (shut-off valve), and slowly turned the valve so that the hole of this valve lined up with the other hole.The vinyl-covered handle allowed for a secure grip as I turned the valve, which took a bit of effort to rotate the valve.note: before turning the valve back on, I opened a few faucets in the house. Then, I very slowly turned the valve back on, so that the plumbing isn't damaged as water rushes back through.One thing to note: this key is 17-inches.Our water valve is not too far below the ground, so this is not problematic in our case.Also, since I am short, I didn't need to bend down too much to use it. In the past, I used our neighbor's key, and that one was quite long, so I didn't have to stoop over so much.The 4-way utility key will come in handy, should we ever need to use it, especially for the natural gas valve.Lastly, a user manual is not included; but, a manual would have been helpful, for those of us who haven't used a water meter key before and don't want to research online to figure out how to use it.Overall, this Water Meter Key makes it quick and effective in turning off/on the water to our home.
