The spring is useless. I have no idea where it went. However, it worked really well. You are purchasing a cheap drill bit & grommets. SO go slow & straight in! It worked fine but I could tell that anymore pressure or speed & would be bad. BTW.. check the size of your plugs. This is small & won’t fit a flat plug for a surge protector or many cables. That said, it’s great for the price. Don’t expect more than it is. A good bit is 2x as much as this kit. Be easy & it’s good.

Look for the price this thing is perfectly fine. I will say the drill bit is not going to last on thick composite or MDF and don’t even try is you have a real wood desk over .5 inch. But honestly that’s on the buyer, you can’t buy a kit at this price and expect big brand reliability. If you’re going into dry wall, composite or MDF and it’s under an inch you should be perfectly fine. The plastic grommets themselves are actually really nice and spring loaded so they’re easy to turn and use. Overall this is great for the price and I have no complaints…. Just don’t expect more than what it is.

The bit it comes with is trash. Be sure to have a back up. Kind of expected due to the cheap price.

So far so good. I've cut 3 holes with the bit and it still works. The inserts could fit a little tighter but it's acceptable.

This set was perfect for setting up my work desk that did not have holes for my cords.
