Better than President IMO
A really nice radio.I have 2 President Lincoln II plus radios at $300 each and they are not as good at what they do as this one.I like the looks of it,the mic is ok I guess. The weather stations come clear. The receive is so clear on all of the channels. If you want 11m,you dont even need your soldering station for that.Theres no pots to turn,so nothing to screw up.Got good reports with stock mic.Mine came with an external speaker thats pretty loud for its size.Im buying another of these radios next month and getting rid of my President radios.

Amazing noise cancellation! SHould be called Radioawesomity. :)
It takes a little bit of learning but man is this a lot of radio for the money! And I love the controls. Much better than pushing buttons when a vehicle is bouncing down the road. For a radio with SSB bands, 10 meter, 11 meter if you make the simple mod, and a really nice weather radio. Awesome radio.Update: I tried out the Lower side band today. Someone in Western New York was talking to someone in Florida. I did a radio check when they were done talking and was able to speak to Western New York from Houston, clear as a bell. Florida was a little bit of static. Really amazed. I might have had the frequency tweeking knob bumped before, so when I put it at the 50% midpoint detent, everything was super clear. It should be called Radioawesomity! :)The mic is a little chinsy for this nice a radio. And the mic hole is just a tiny little hole. Seems strange.Haven't figured out howto change settings using the computer cable yet. Nice that they included the computer cable though.I mounted my radio to a hunk of 2X6 wood. that way I can put it in the truck or car or bring it in the house to figure out how to use the programming cable.

GOOD RADIO FOR THE PRICE.
GREAT RADIO FOR THE PRICE FULL FEATURES AND SOFTWARE INCLUDED . Not a great am swing monster but nice clean 30 watts the noise reduction is great i leave mine on 2 thats all u need. the radio does get splash from other channels one fix is when that happens turn off the NB as the NB can increase slash from strong signals on other channels. once again for the price its a good value u can get better like the QT60 but that's more expensive this will fill the bill if u want some decent power all features and channels and 12 and 10 meter ham as well as cb radio and freeband at the same time. u can also add 2 meter and coast guard frequencies to the weather radio channels for extra listening . fun radio its worth the 179$ they sell for. if u want more features and power get the QT60. i own both.

Great Radio! Great Service!
Radio is great! Had issues with trying to program the radio. Customer service was very helpful. It came down to the programming cable being faulty. Radioddty sent out a new cable and I was finally able to customize my radio. It's working perfectly with great audio reports from various contacts. Highly recommend this radio. Radioddty is top notch when it comes to their service dept. I also own the radioddty CB500. It too is a great radio, also received great reports on that radio. Overall this company has great products and would definitely recommend them if your looking for a quality radio.

Second Radio and No Transmit after two contacts
First radio I received the abolish meter did not work on transmit or receive. Sent it back and got another. Put it online, got the menus set-up and made two contacts. Went out today, turned the radio on, the revive works fine, pressed the PTT and nothing. Checked EVERYTHING! The up and down buttons work so I was able to check the VFO and it worked. I did a reset to factory settings and no transmit transmit still. I am very disappointed to say the least. And to think I was going to buy the new QT-80 Pro. There seems to be reliability issues with the radio sitting in one place. Was not installed in a vehicle. Was not mishandled. Is ina climate controlled environment. VSWR is 1:1.I did sent a message to their customer service. We’ll see what they come back with.

Best radio for the price
Pretty much every feature you would need in this kind of radio. Microphone is good, audio is clear. Noise reduction circuitry is excellent. Easy to convert to CB band if you need to. Dead key and power levels are adjustable through the menus, as are echo and reverb levels. Frequency can be displayed by pressing both channel buttons on the microphone and can also show your SWR when keying up the radio. Has built in weather radio, multiple roger beeps and talk back, and can also be programmed with custom VHF frequencies using the included USB cable and by downloading the free software from their website. The radio looks very clean and modern inside. On low, dead key was 1 watt swinging to 4.5 watts. On high, dead key was 15 watts swinging to 38 watts. All and all, a very nice radio, well worth the price.

Excellent multi-band hf radio
This is one of the best multi-band capable radios in its class. The modification information is available online. The old school chrome trim is reminiscent of the classic rigs from the 1980's and 1990's.If you are seeking a reasonably priced, full featured, mobile (or base station) 2-way radio may want to take a look at this one.Update: After running this rig for about 10 months, the only flaw which has presented itself is the built-in swr meter. The readings are showing much higher than they truly are -- verified by connecting an analog swr meter. This rig is a winner.

OUTSTANDING VALUE
This is an outstanding radio by any standards, but especially for the money. I talk to people all over the USA and Canada on just 40 watts of power, using a simple half-wave homemade dipole antenna in my back yard. I get 5-9 reports regularly from people well over 1,000 miles away. I do have a larger HF radio but the 100 watts it puts out does not give me any advantage over what this QT40 will do. This is a must have for those who want to spend much time on 10 meters.
