New kind of experience
Having been familiar with the Hunt a Killer boxes, I was expecting more of the same, however there's a LOT more to this product than simply reviewing case files. The quality of the materials within the box is second to none when comparing a product of this type. There was also a linear, and storyline driven, order of the puzzles, rather than everything being given to the user all at once. The attention to detail, the packaging, the user design experience was second to none for a product of this type within my experience, and I was kind of blown away. The variety of the puzzles reminded me more of a video game such as the Room, rather than a standard murder mystery box.As noted in other reviews, the AR app was said to not be compatible on my Android phone even though it says that it's compatible with Android 13 or higher. Luckily, my girlfriend had an iOS device that was able to use the app. While it can feel gimmicky at times, that was an additional layer of immersion provided with some of the puzzles. In terms of the difficulty of the puzzles, we solved each of them without the use of hints, expect for the one involving Warren White. Even using the hint system, there wasn't much help. We did finally solve the answer through an incredibly roundabout means, but I would like to hear feedback from the creators as to what their intended method of solution was.The story telling was overall above average, and used secondary characters within the batman universe, which was pleasantly surprising. However, the conclusion both storyline wise and puzzle wise felt anti-climatic.Overall, I would say that this was a fantastic experience, that pushed the boundaries of what these kinds of products can be, and I would highly recommend.

Love it
My family had a lot of fun. I saved it for Thanksgiving so that I could play it with my nephews. They were super surprised when I pulled it out and we took over my aunt’s den for the whole weekend. It’s A LOT of content and puzzles and it feels like we played for two days straight. This could easily be split into multiple weeks worth of game nights. There are lots of moments where everyone worked together to solve puzzles and the app was easy to download and play. The phone tech was really cool and the kids loved searching for things in the 3D city and finding the hidden puzzle clues. The story is about Harley Quinn and some new villains but there was nothing super violent or scary. My favorite part personally was all the physical puzzles and building the city. All the stuff in the box was super high quality and it was fun opening new envelopes as we finished puzzles to see what was next. The kids took turns wearing the joker mask all weekend and wanted to wear during family photos. Overall it was lots of fun. It did take us a while to put it all back in the box, but there’s instructions so it was pretty easy.

A great escape room in a box
This experience is a fun cross between an escape room and a legacy board game. Great for anyone that loves solving puzzles. There is a mix of different puzzle types that use documents that you open along the way as well as exploring the city using the AR functionality. There's several cases that you work through and the app will help save your progress so you can pause playing whenever you need and start back up from where you left off.The Batman theme works really well with this type of detective style puzzle solving, and would be a great activity to spend a day or several nights for a family with kids old enough to help solve the puzzles. Can't wait to see what other experiences this company will make.P.S. The miniature Gotham City you build lets you play a Kaiju simulator with your cats.

Android not supported, game unplayable
I was really excited about this game, but the first thing you have to do is download the app, which has all the instructions. I could not get the qr code to scan so went to their website and used the link to the app in the store there. My devices are using Android 13. The app in the Google play store says it requires Android 13, yet Google won't let me install it saying "this app is not compatible with any of your devices." I looked all over the Internet for help, but all I found were people complaining about it being buggy, videos not playing, the app crashing, the stream to TV feature being laggy, etc. so I guess they decided to take it down to stop getting so many bad reviews.I found the crowd funding page where the comments section is also flooded with people complaining about Android glitches, not getting half the things they paid for, and reporting radio silence from the creators. It's so disheartening that this is unplayable just because I don't have an iOS device. Maybe I'll get a chance to borrow one from a family member, but I shouldn't have to. Since it's opened I can't return it now, so I have this "10lb box" just taking up space until something changes.

Currently only works with apple
I was very disappointed, I saw this 2 years ago w/ Chris Ramsey and was bummed at the time that is was only for apple. I saw that it said it now works with android, and bought it immediately. Then I looked at Google play. 1.9 stars, the app you need to play the game straight up doesn't work. And the maker doesn't doesn't respond to any form of contact.

Super Immersive, Very engaging with my kids and wife
Our family plays A LOT of board games so we are always on the hunt for something new. This one has more than just the normal board game elements. You also build 3D parts of the game (city and zoo) as you play and on top of that, you use your phone to watch virtual reality sequences that make the 3D elements come to life (that is the part my kids love the most. It really keeps them engaged.). The game is long and with all the building and the virtual reality to discover so I recommend using your gaming table for this game for a few weeks so you can have multiple sessions and break it up over time. Like a DnD game or Puzzle - because it has a lot of great storytelling elements you don't want to feel pressured to rush through. Fun product. Looking forward to expansion packs.
