Floor Transition Strip - Aluminum Transition Strips for Doorway, 36 Inch Adhesive Flooring Transitions, Doorway Edge Trim Suitable for Threshold Height Less Than 1.6 Inch

I know this is random and probably not the review you were looking for, but the cord & outlet situation under our wall mounted above mantle TV was uggggly. I needed something to cover it up that was lightweight, easy to put on and take off and looked premium. After searching thru electronics management and home decor options, nothing was just right. Then this magically appeared on my Amazon radar and seemed perfect. The actual product is even nicer and more sophisticated looking than in pictures. It fits my space perfectly, covers all the cords and plugs and looks almost like part of the electronics! I couldn't be happier!

This was a perfect fit across the threshold for the man door on the garage. Is sturdy and weathered the below freezing temps we had in January. And something that was very simple for me to install myself.

Ramp is extruded aluminum and has a nice black anodized finish. At 36 inches It is wider than all of the doors in our house including exterior doors. This is a good thing and potentially bad thing. Good because it isn't going to be to short and possibly bad (if you don't own tools/aren't particularly handy) because you *will* have to cut it down to size with a hacksaw or an angle grinder.Also as noted it the title, if you are using this to allow a Roomba to access an area with a lip that is more than the little beast can handle than the max height this will tolerate isn't the 1.6in max given in the description but 1in or a little less. The critical angle for the Roomba is 22deg or less. (and at the height it will still struggle and have to hit it at a specific angle.

This is useless if you have more than about 1 inch of a transition height difference. The difference in my floor is just under 1.5 inches, and while this product says it's suitable for up to 1.6 inches, that's just not true. When this is installed on my new finished floor, the other side hovers about a half-inch above the unfinished floor portion. The product feels solid and it's made of metal, but that also means that it can't really be bent to adjust for the difference in height.If you have the exact high, then I'm sure this is perfect. But if your difference is beyond 1 inch, look for an alternative.

I installed 2 of these in the doorways from my kitchen to the dining room and foyer. Each transition was approx. 1.125” and these worked perfect and provide a nice subtle slope to the adjoining room. I was able to snip them to size with 10” aviation snips. It took some patience and a good amount of hand strength, but the snips got the job done. All in all, the install for two of these (4 cuts) was pretty easy and took about a half hour. Hope this helps!
