Aerial as some folk have stated feels flimsy and thin and id agree but its absolutely fine just handle it with care and its great .. this is a super easy to use very compact radio and i cant believe the quality and undistorted volume of such a tiny item .. highly recommend esp for holiday use.

Wonderful little DAB+ radio, good price
This is a tremendous little DAB+ radio, with long broadcast reach and impressive audio quality from a small speaker inside a good quality case only 10cm by 5. It can easily fill a room with clear undistorted sound and plenty of low frequency sensitivity. Raddy have thrown in TF and USB slots to read MP3 and other formats, and Bluetooth connectivity. Power comes from a rechargeable internal battery. Along with the all round build and sound quality, what stands out is the intuitive nature of the controls. One can start to use it sensibly the minute it is out of the box. Altogether a very good pocket sized performer at a good price.

Good but could be better
Pros:Small. good reception on both FM and DAB. One of the best speakers for it's size I've come across. MP3 Playback. 50 presets on both FM and DAB. Thumbwheel volume control, Fairly intuitive controls. Decent battery life.Cons :Cheap looking "Piano black" finishVery small display.USB Socket and numeric key pad of doubtful utilityBought this to replace my danaged Azatom and it's a good choice. Performance is similar and has MP3 playback too.MP3 playback limited to sequential file playback buttu not a problem for me as I use it mainly for audibooks. A large colection of songs for instance would quickly become unmanageable but this is true of the limited number number of DAB radios which even offer MP3 playback.6 numeric buttons for direct entry of presets seems a bit supurfluos as the radio offers 50 in both modes but the keypad only allows direct selection of first 6 in your preset list. After that it's arrow buttons for the the other 44!The space would have been better used for a larger display.Supurfluous USB ssocket. Is any one really going to plug a pendrive into a pocket radio for MP3 playback when there is a microSD card slot right next to it!A fairly barebones radio with no equaliser (presets or manual), sleep timer, display brightness/timeout adjustment etc. but the recption and sound quality are good from speaker or headphones and this is what matters to me most. After all you're not buying a HiFi system. It is worth noting that the radio uses the telescopic antenna even when earphones are plugged in.It's hard to criticisise but a larger display instead of the keypad and USB socket (both of doubtful value) would have made it a game changer at the price.

Better than similar radios on the market
I have a few of these mini DAB/FM radios now which have the convenience of an actual speaker as well as a personal headphone socket and after a week or so I have to say this is the best one in the budget range that I've tried so far. Especially the quality of the speaker is excellent for such a small device, easily good enough for a kitchen/bedroom radio and quite pleasant to listen to news/culture and sports channels like BBC/LBC/Talk Sport with very clear audio. I also like the basic shiny black plastic shell, thank god they haven't coated it in that terrible rubber film that feels good for a few months and then deteriorates into a sticky mess making the device unusable. The reception on both FM and DAB is good once you find a good position for the radio but does need the rather flimsy antenna fully extended. I am in a strong reception area so this is not a big problem for me but the radio may struggle with reception in other areas of the country. The controls are basic with six preset buttons and up to 40 available in total by fiddly scrolling through a list, but I do like the dial control for the volume, just like on older analog radios it's much smoother and quicker to control than using buttons. (Unfortunately, like most digital radios the lowest volume level is not low enough, especially for night listening with the radio near your pillow - why doesn't the volume decrease to zero smoothly?)No headphones are included in the package and the charging port is the old-fashioned micro-USB type, but a cable is provided and the radio works fine while charging.

Great little dab radio
Awesome bit of kit, the sound is great considering the size of it, not tried headphones yet but for a little dab radio, it is full of quality as well as being able to just put it in your pocket. I will give it a thumbs up, you wont be disappointed, the only downside is you will need to put the aerial up which is abit flimsy but the reception is very good

Excellent travel radio with the best audio quality .
The RD23 has a huge amazing full sound for it's micro size , the best audio quality radio for it's size I'd say , it's an excellent travel radio .It's very easy to use & it programs all the channels automatically , as in plug & play .The only thing I would say is that great care should be taken with the telescopic antenna as it's very fragile , I wouldn't use it as a personal radio with headphones as it would pose a damage hazard to the antenna ,it's not designed for that as the headphones cable is not used as the antenna like a personal radio , it would be nice if it had this facility , hence it could then be used as a personal radio , but sadly not in it's current design, other then that it's an excellent travel radio , the intended use to be placed on a bedside table or something similar .Battery life is a few days with normal use .

Superb little radio
I do like to carry a small radio when I stay in hotels and this one fits the bill perfectly. It is very light and about the size of an old nokia phone. Sound quality is really good for such a small device and can be turned up load enough to fill the room without distorting. Good reception on FM and DAB but only with the antenna fully extended and the antenna does seem very thin and probably easily bent or snapped. Don't yet know what battery life is like but it charges from a standard phone charger. Device can also be used as a Bluetooth speaker.
