BMW 5 Series (E60, E61) Service Manual: 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010: 525i, 525xi, 528i, 528xi, 530i, 530xi, 535i, 535xi, 545i, 550i

Product as advertised. Manual was what we needed. Would recommend to a friend. We at first only received Volume 2. We talked to vendor and they promptly sent out Volume 1.

This was the only brand for my BMW 530 XI, but it seems very direct.

This manual is definitely worth the investment, as it goes into great detail on each step required for a given task. Unfortunately, it did not go as far as I would have liked on engine tear downs, and stopped at the top end section. I was unable to find any sort of reference for torque specifications or color coding on things like main bearing bolts or crank shaft spacers. Still, a worthwhile investment. I would argue the manual tells you about 80-90% of everything you would ever need to know, and what it doesn't tell you is often reserved for very unique circumstances and specialty shops; i.e, they don't expect you to want to rebuild an entire engine with this book, but you could service the top end.

These manuals are very high quality; hardback with nice coated pages full of mostly black and white photos, diagrams, graphics. There are also some nice color images. There's some good information on how things work. The wire diagrams look quite detailed, organized and useful. Looking forward to using these as I go through a used 2008 BMW 528i that I just bought.

This is the right book for repairing and maintaining a 5 series BMW, 2004-2010. The directions are clear, although you may have to go to several places in the book to effect a repair. For example, to remove the spark plugs, you have to remove the cover, then the plug coil, then the plug. Each removal is explained on on separate pages in separate sections and the book will send you to them. Otherwise, this is very well written and the pictures are clear. I recommend this book. Your first repair will likely save you the price of the book!

The BMW 5 Series Service Manual is a beautiful, hardback, two volume set. They are mostly black & white with some color. They measures approximately 8 ½" by 11" and 3" thick. The set is expertly formatted with cross references and indexes. The amount of information is staggering. I wish I had bought these books, or similar, with my 525xi in 2006. My first thought was the service manual was a bit pricey, but when you consider the quality of the books and information they are worth it.

Brand new 2 volume set of hard cover books. Perfect condition. Lots of information m exactly what I was looking for.

This is a high quality 2-volume hardbound set of books. Excellent photographs and narrative for doing everything from routine maintenance to the most complex jobs. I am a low level weekend mechanic, but I have tackled some jobs like oil and filter changes, resetting the service indicators, and with theses books I am feeling confident enough to tackle some bigger jobs.

Overpriced for what is in it. Not like a hynes manual.

According to my better half, this manual gives excellent information on electronics and mechanical parts but as he already knew it does not cover the engine fitted to British and European versions .

It covers every nut and bolt
