I bought this for squats. The knurling provides good grip. Also appreciate that the handles rotate down allowing me to use the bar so that I am able to squat down further. Also, started using them for back lunges. It’s a little tight on space for lunges but works.

The media could not be loaded.  It's very easy to neglect the lower body when working out and strength building so I purchased a barbell and squat stands few years ago to work out my lower body and legs.Squat is amazing exercise but unless you have a place to permanently store your squat stands, it's kind of hassle to set up the stands then to lift and put the barbell on the squat stands.My wife also wanted to work out on her legs and glutes, and again squats would be the perfect exercise but she's too small and not strong enough to lift the barbell on the squat stands by herself and she also didn't like to have the barbell on her shoulders.This Hex Trap Bar was the perfect solution for her! There's literally nothing to set up and you just have to go stand inside the trap bar then just hold the handles and start doing dead lifting with it.It's actually much better than dong a deadlift with a barbell since you are the center of the gravity rather than the weight bar in front of you.I love the fact that the handles rotate and can store flat so that this hex bar can be stored away flat if needed.It also comes with 2 snap springs but I currently don't have any 2" weight plates as all my weight equipment are for 1" plate but this hex bar itself is about 40lbs so my wife actually don't need any additional weights as this is already heavy for her!She's been using this for her daily exercise and she loves it. The day after the first night, she said her glutes and thighs were very sore from working out.I'm a volleyball player and I know that deadlift exercise is one of the best training to increase the vertical so I need to buy few 2" weight plates for myself so i can use this to work out as well!5 out of 5 stars. Highly recommend this for anyone who wants alternative to squats for working those hips, glutes, and lower body. The media could not be loaded.  Due to COVID, my son wasn’t able to go to the gym to prepare for lacrosse season. He was dying to lift, so we put together a little gym in our basement. We got him the basics for Christmas, like a bench, rack and olympic weight set, but of course he “needed” more weights and bars. We’re making him buy the rest, so he’s been slowing adding gear as he gets the money. He was thrilled when he finally had enough to buy this Hex bar. It’s a great addition to the gym. This is an extremely sturdy bar that's well fabricated with clean, strong welds. The frame is heavy duty steel with a chrome finish. The finish is well done with no bubbles or chipping. I weighed the bar on my bathroom scale and it came in right around 41 pounds. The bars for the weights are made for 2 inch Olympic weight plates. It comes with 2 spring clips to keep the plates secured onto the bar. They are easy to use and fit the bar perfectly. There are 2 separate handles that you can use when lifting. There are foldable handles and handles on the bar, both of which are textured for a better grip. My son really likes that the handles fold in, so he can store it in his bar rack. I really like that the Hex bar is made to help reduce injury, especially of the spine. For teenage boys, it's not always about doing things the right way, but seeing how much weight they can lift, even if it hurts them. 🤦‍♀️ The bar is rated to hold up to 800 pounds, but they've only got up to around 400 pounds so far. It's working great and holding up nicely. This is a solid, well made piece of equipment that has exceeded our expectations.

I love doing deadlifts with this thing. Very heavy duty. Quality. This is my first trap bar (none of the gyms I’ve been to have had them). But now I can deadlift with decreased risk to my lower back. I love the way that exercise feels! The rotating handles are what sets this bar apart— makes it easier to store against a wall and adds a bit of comfort on your grip and shoulders while performing there w deadlift. Super pleased with my choice, as there are a lot of trap bars out there.Someone mentioned “rust”. Mine came with this weird coating of brownish, red iron dust all over the product and the bar. Could have been rust, I’m not sure, but it wiped off easily with a damp paper towel and hasn’t returned. Honestly it might bed be some type of protective coating so it doesn’t rust during shipment. Who knows. There also was a small, pointy bleb of metal sticking out on the handle that I intend to file off, but haven’t yet.I also saw someone wonder if it’s good foot tall people. I’m 6’0 and there’s no spacing issue at all.The worst thing about this is it came with an ad to download an app and enter your bank account info to enter a drawing. Looked for the app, was obviously not reputable, and it felt very scammy. Not sure what to think of it other than it has nothing to do with the great bar, so I won’t dock a star for that.Not a perfect product, but almost perfect, hence the five stars.

At first wasn’t sure if I made a good investment had some buyers remorse at first lol. Then it came I used it and fell in love with it and it reinforced my decision. I can safely do deadlifts at home and get healthier. So glad I purchased this.

The size in the squat area was just a to narrow. I’d like to return it but it’s to heavy to return back to sender. So I’ll try Play it again sports to sell it.I like the idea & feel but just to narrow to keep. Already have one I like the idea hate the use. Will try another bar from somewhere else.

Knurling is really aggressive so you need gloves or you'll destroy your hands, but otherwise np.Sliding the collars on sounds cheap compared to my normal olympic bar, not sure what the sleeve is made of exactly but at least the collar slides on it easily.Despite it being a closed design, you can do lunges and split squats etc np.High handle squats and deadlifts feels amazing. Normally my adductors and glutes do most of the work on squats but this thing solves that problem and it's all on my quads. Deadlifts makes my glutes really sore, hams too.It just feels way more natural overall that putting the bar on my back so I'm loving it. You load it up as much as you want without the risk of injury. Taking plates off the bar is annoying but it just comes with the territory, not a complaint about the bar.The handles are mobile, dangling down when you let them go. I don't know how I feel about moving parts like that, makes me think it might break, but it doesn't feel like it will.So far so good. Aside from the knurling being too aggressive, this thing is great and I'll update it anything goes wrong with it.

Good price, great quality, love the rotating handles that help line up with your shoulder width. The sleeves require slightly smaller collars than traditional Olympic bar collars but they do include their own spring collars that fit perfectly. Really good alternative bar for deadlifts and squats.
