adjustable brightness (3 levels), 2 magnets.
adjustable brightness (3 levels), 2 magnets.when I was shopping for one of these light boxes, this one was by far the best value ($21.64).used with the "negative me" app to take photos of negatives then invert the colors.the results were WAY better than when I was using an empty picture frame, a sheet of paper, and a light bulb for a light box.a couple more magnets would be nice.

What I expected
This will help me review film negatives and slides before I scan them. It will be a lot easier than holding them up to the light. The unit works fine and is of good quality.

Take a look at your old slides and negatives...
We have a bunch of old negatives for photos that, mostly my mom, took back in the 70s into the 90s that need some organizing with the eventual intent of getting them printed and put into various scrapbooks. Since we didn't have a lightbox for viewing them I decided to order this light pad viewer to make things a little easier. The light box arrived well packaged with an additional thin foam bag to give a little extra protection for the pad itself. To start off the product does come with a shortish USB-A cord, no charge block. A pair of magnets are also included for keeping your negatives flat while you are looking at them. There is an instruction booklet, printed in English, German, Spanish, Italian, and French that is very basic but will get you plugged in and setup. It also lets you know what app or apps you need to download depending on whether you are scanning slides or negatives. So, depending on what you want to use this light pad for...Light Pad Viewer Only: This is where this item excels. The light pad has flat surface rim to rim with a band of black around the edges of the area that lights up. The entire illuminated area lights up with no really noticeable dark spots. There are 3 brightness levels that are controlled via a super easy touch button that also controls the on/off. There are measurements marked on two sides of the pad. The measurements are in centimeters and come out to be 30cm X 21cm. The top surface of the light pad does stay cool to the touch even after it has been on for a little while. The product is thin and fairly lightweight overall but it does feel sturdy enough and the size does make it easier to store when not in use. The 2 magnets do their job quite well. They hold the negative down securely but can be easily removed. If you turn the pad upside down the magnets and negative will not fall.Scanning Images Via Smartphone: And this is where things get a little iffy. Downloading the FilmBox app was not difficult, though you do have to create an account before you can use any part of it. The app comes in an add-free version that currently costs between $6-$40 or in a free version that has so many ads it's almost impossible to use. The free version did include some basic features like colorizing, sharpening, and several color adjustments. Obviously the pay version has more options. There is no print option within the app but there are some roundabout ways to get around that. The quality of the finished scan is OK, good enough to text to friends and family but not what I would consider suitable for framing if you printed it out.Overall: As far as it goes, where this product shines is as a budget friendly light for viewing your old slides and negatives and that is what we will be using it for...
