This is the first time I have ever used something like these wood carving discs and I was really impressed with the amount of wood they remove and the speed at which they do it. I just received these disks so I haven’t used them too much or have that much experience with them but they are holding up fine so far. I didn’t notice any wear and tear but I only used it on softwood and for a short time. At the way they were removing wood though, I don’t expect any issues when trying them on hardwood. They do produce quite a bit of saw dust and wood chips and all that pretty much goes everywhere. The wood burrs also worked pretty well too. I also want to mention that the flange nuts that come with this kit will not fit 5/8x11 threads. It might have a thread pitch of 11 but the diameter of the flange nut is not 5/8-inch. The hole is too small. At least the flange nut that came with my angle grinder worked fine so, it wasn’t a problem. I have to say that for a beginner, I think this kit is a good way to get started because these discs/burrs seem like decent quality and you’re not tying up a great deal of money either.

Came fast and they work great

I didn’t know about such tools, but once I started playing with them I realized what I’ve been missing. It’s like free-style woodworking with power tools, so much easier than traditional carving with chisels and wood files. The grinder disks work like rasp files on steroids, the way they go into soft wood it’s like cartoon physics, they remove fast large volumes. They also get real hot pretty fast in the process, though, and may leave burn marks on the wood. The drill bits are also very effective and quickly remove a lot of material, too. Not just for artsy carving, these are also great for making notches or reshaping the surface of non-removable wood beans and posts.The only downside I can tell for now is the addictive nature of these new tools, hard to let them down and go back to the usual, elaborate way of carving. Once the initial enthusiasm dissipates though, I guess a combination of rapid removal of the bigger volumes with these tools, followed by carving finer details with traditional tools may be the best approach.One thing to be said is about the risk of getting carried away and not properly securing the piece of wood worked on. These tools are exerting a lot of force, and there is no way one could keep steady and securely, by hand, the piece worked on. The included instructions focus on this, and are very well written, worth reading and re-reading every time you bring out these tools for use.

This Upgraded 4PCS Wood Carving Disc Set＋5PCS Rotary Burr Rasp Set has good wood carving discs and 1/4" shank rotary burrs, but neither of the carving disc flange nuts fits a 5/8"-11 arbor.I was stil able to use my Metabo's flange nut (hand only, no tools) without any issues, but I do have to be careful while installing/removing it as the carving disc teeth are very sharp.The wood carving discs come with 4 shape options that will fit most people's needs. The teeth on these discs are very sharp and remove soft wood material in a fast manner.BE SURE to use your off hand accessory handle when using these carving discs on your angle grinder! You will need both hands to safely control your angle grinder with these carving discs.I haven't used the 1/4" shank rotary burrs yet, but they are also have very sharp teeth that will be more than capable in removing wood from your project.I recommend the Upgraded 4PCS Wood Carving Disc Set＋5PCS Rotary Burr Rasp Set.

These tools are more for detail work where you have the majority roughed out. They are not as aggressive as the 6 tooth cutters available. They are also a little easier to control. These fit my BOCSH grinder without issues. The only real question I have with these is how long they stay sharp as I have only tested them for a short time. They are made of hardened steel instead of carbide like the 6 tooth cutters and normally won't last as long. But time will tell. So far I am happy with these.

I used these on pine and the teeth wore out in about 5 minutes, especially on the drill bit things. They worked just long enough to finish the project though.The company offered a full refund, so I apprecciated the customer service.

These tools enhance my grinder and let me remove material much faster with different angles. I can carve more easily using these rather than just using cutoff wheels. Great product.
